Q. 1: Why do you think Stacey is so motivated and Harry isn’t?

Ans: I think Stacey is so motivated but Harry isn’t because Stacey loves her job too much. She
is very interested in negotiating and this kind of jobs makes her happy. She loves to do her
job more than anything else. She takes her job as her whole life. Whatever she does throughout
the day, everything is related to her job in anyway. On the other hand, Harry is also motivated to
his job, but he is not as much as Stacey is. Because he likes his job but he does not love his like
Stacey does. Moreover, he values his time with his family.

Q. 2: If you were to learn that Stacey And Harry made $22,000 and $48,000 a year, respectively,
would you be surprised? Explain.

Ans: If I were to learn that Stacey and Harry made $22,000 and $48,000 a year, respectively, I
would not be surprised, because at first, they work at different position and company, every work
has different value. Secondly, I think money is not matter for Stacey and also, she doesn’t
care about it because she loves her work very much. As money isn’t the factor which
motivates Stacey, she will be happy to work event in that salary as she loves her job.
On the other hand, Harry is a top-level employee. He may not be a motivated employee
but he does his work right which is why him getting $48000 a year is understandable.
And money or salary doesn’t have a relation with motivation. There isn’t any rule like a motivated
employee will earn more. So, their salary does not surprise me.

Q. 3: As a manager who would you prefer to have worked for you? Why?

Ans: As a manager I would prefer Stacey to work for me.

I would choose her as she is a more motivated employee who lovers her job more than salary or
any other factor. This gives the organization some benefits. As organization can get better output
from her than Harry. And as a manager I would try to reduce the organization cost, and giving
Harry 48000 dollar annually is a bit costly for the organization. And while comparing both
employees I feel that Stacey will be a better employee overall as she thinks only about her job and
performing well in her existing job and working with full motivation and taking a lower salary in
compare to Harry.
So, company can get more output at a lower cost which actually is a efficient choice in my
perspective as a manager and that is why I will choose Stacey to work for me instead of Harry.
