A. STATEMENTS.

1. “I can ́t answer the question”, Ann said.

Ann told me that she couldn´t answer the question.

2. “These shoes are too big for me”, Helen said.

Helen said that those shoes were too big for her.

3. “I ́m having a friend for lunch today”, Peter said.

Peter said that he was having a friend for lunch that day.

4. “I posted the parcel yesterday”, Eddie said.

Eddie said that he had posted the parcel the day before.

5. “We will go there tomorrow”, they said.

They said that they would there the next day.

6. “I will visit my grandchildren next week”, Mr. Green said.

Mr.Green said that he would visit his grandchildren the following week.

7. “I bought this for you last week, John”, said Susan.

Susan said that she had bought that for me the previous week.

8. “I ́m going out now, but I ́ll be in by nine”, he said.

He said that he was going out then,but he would be in by nine.

9. “You have got my umbrella because yours is in my bedroom”, John told me.

John told me that I had got his umbrella because mine was in his bedroom.

10. “If I had money, I ́d buy a new car”, she said to her friends.
