A spoken language is a language produced by articulate sounds, as opposed to a written
language . Many languages have no written form and so are only spoken. An oral language or
vocal language is a language produced with the vocal tract, as opposed to a sign language ,
which is produced with the hands and face. The term "spoken language" is sometimes used to
mean only vocal languages, especially by linguists, making all three terms synonyms by
excluding sign languages. Others refer to sign language as "spoken", especially in contrast to
written transcriptions of signs.

From the explanation in the background, that the general problems that can occur regarding
spoken text can be identified as follows:
 Why does the film use spoken text?

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

 The findings of this study will give information about spoken text (in this case) in
film.
 The findings of this study will also give us why film use spoken text inside it.

Speaking is a language skill through which someone can express ideas or information to the
others. In the same way, Brown (2003: 140) defines speaking as oral interaction where the
participants need to negotiate meaning contained in ideas, feeling and information, and
manage in terms of who is to what, to whom an about what.
Furthermore, speaking has been considered as the most challenging of the four skills. It is
supporting by the fact that in speaking, it involves a complex process of constructive
meaning. The process itself requires speakers to make decision about how, why, and when to
communicate to others by considering the culture and social context

Film uses spoken text more because it is to give an understanding of what will be conveyed
to the audience so that it is more easily digested by the minds of the audience and will not
cause confusion during the film airing or in progress, so the spoken text plays a role for the
film's purpose to the audience's mind.
