With SAP S/4HANA, the operational purchaser is supported holistically across all buying
activities, such as processing Purchase Requisitions, to find an appropriate source of supply,
creating, and processing purchase orders.

Employees are supported to search and request goods or services in a cross-catalog search,
with a consumer-grade user experience.
The complete requisitioning process is supported in SAP Fiori UI, from creating the purchase
requisition to confirmation of goods and services.
For Purchase Order Collaboration, a native integration into the Ariba Network is provided with
SAP S/4HANA.
Real-time Procurement Analytics facilitates the purchaser to react directly to spend
exceptions or overdue Purchase Order items.

SAP S/4HANA offers a standard integration to the Ariba Network, for sending purchase
orders, RFQs, order confirmations, and advanced shipping notifications, as well as invoices
and the status update of invoices for the supplier. The integration requires no separate add-
on.
The Ariba Network is the strategic supplier collaboration platform for SAP S/4HANA.
Following this strategy, the interface technology has built natively into SAP S/4HANA. Most
messages for Purchasing can be exchanged with the Ariba Network.
Purchase Order Collaboration enables the transmission of POs and other order-related
documents through the Ariba Business Network.
Business network solutions from SAP Ariba support Purchase Order Collaboration, as follows:
● End-to-end collaboration on order fulfillment, including orders, change orders,
confirmations (on-premise), cancellations, and advance shipping notifications
● Ariba Supplier Enablement Services help with onboarding of suppliers onto the network
