INTRODUCTION OF ANDROID

Android is an operating system based on Linux kernel. It is basically optimized

for small devices specially designed for touch inputs.

It is mostly used operating system in the world. Currently more than 9 million
devices run on this OS.

 Android is an Open Source environment, an open source ecosystem.

 Android is complete software package for mobile device.

 Android was developed by the Open Handset Alliance (OHA).

 Then in 2005 Google purchased Android and took over its development work.

 Java language is mainly used in Android.

 Android is highly customizable for device.

There are various versions of Android and their codenames such as Cupcake,
Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean,
Kitkat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, Nougat, Oreo & Pie.
