Major Project Guidelines
General A) The students would do the research project individually. B) The students will indicate their interest of research area in one of the following: Marketing/ Finance/ HR C) The allocation of guide and students will be done on the basis of matching the area of the guides to the interest area indicated by the student. Students are not allowed to ask for a particular guide. The students are not allowed to change their groups/ topics/guides once allocated D) Marks would be allocated on the following criteria:

Students understand the 06/02/2016 project topic and Start work on Introduction - 13/02/2016 Introduction Section 10 Marks 22/02/2016 Start work on Literature 10 Marks review and Finish Lit. review Chapter Viva will be taken along with Internal Viva 1 20 Marks Mid Term I 06/03/2016 Research objectives and 5 Marks Design 20/03/2016 Data Gathering 10 Marks 30/03/2016 Data Analysis 5 Marks 7/04/2016 Report Writing (Spiral 10 Marks Binding) Viva will be taken along with Internal Viva II 30 marks Mid Term II 28/04/2016 Report Submission- hard Bound Internal Marks will be 20+ 30= 50 Marks calculated on the basis of Viva conducted along with Mid Term I and II University Exam (date will be External Viva 50 Marks decided by the university) Total Marks: 100 Soft / Hard Copies of questionnaires/ surveys used to be with the research guides
In case of secondary data used for research (All data /sources/back ground work should be with the guide)
E) 2 hard bound copies of the reports to be submitted by 28/04/2016 for the
external viva.
Report format
The Report will adhere to the following format:
o Length of the report – 80 to 100 pages
o Font used – Times New Roman, 12, o Double spacing o Sections : o Introduction: Introduces the research topic, gives the theory and background. If on a particular sector/company a brief introduction of the company/industry. o Literature Review, the research objectives should be given at the end of the literature review. Guides should share links/ journals with the students, which can be used for literature review. Proper citation of previous studies (APA) and the order to be followed (Chronology). o Research Design: Primary data for HR / Marketing projects using Surveys. Secondary data ok for Finance projects. o Analysis: Simple frequency, averages/pie charts/ bar diagrams for analysis. If the guide feels the student is capable advanced tests can be used. o Findings o Conclusion o Bibliography ( APA format) o Appendix
