JENYFER RIOS SIERRA

The Himalayas is a mountain range located in the Asian continent and spreads for several
countries: Bhutan, Nepal, China and India.

It is the highest mountain range in the world. It has peaks that exceed 8000 meters in height
(above the water level). There is located the highest mountain in the world: Mount Everest.
In general, its mountains are sacred to Hinduism and to Buddhism.

In the Himalayas there are several glaciers such as the Siachen. It is the largest and the most
famous glacier in the world (outside the polar regions).

The highest regions in the Himalaya are covered with snow all the time, and important
rivers are born, for example: Ganges River, Indo River, Yamuta River, etc. In addition, it
has hundreds of lakes of the different size (the higher mountains have the least wide lakes).

The wildlife and the flora of the Himalayas depend on climate, the rainfall, the altitude and
the land. The tropical climate prevails near the mountains, while the perpetual snow is in
the highest peaks.

There you can do mountaineering around the mountains.

The Sahara is the biggest hot desert in the world and is located in North Africa. This
extends from the Red Sea until the Atlantic Ocean.

It has several dunes and seas of sand built by the winds and the rains. Also, it has a lot of
dissected mountains and mountain ranges, which are sometimes volcanic. In addition,
rivers and streams are intermittent, but the only and main exception the Nile River. It has
oases such as Bahariya, Gardaya, Timimoun, Kufra and Siwa as well.

Its weather oscillates between wet and dry. However, scientists estimate that the Sahara has
the warmest and stronger climate in the world. Continuously, occur sand storms and little
twister due to the winds.

In this desert you can see dromedaries (the most recognized animal in the desert), goats,
yellow scorpions, white antelopes, gazelle, etc.

The plants are really limited despite the great desert area, for example, there are acacias,
palms, succulents, thorn bushes and different grasses.

There you can walk in the sand, or take a camel tour, visit the oases and practice sand
sliding.

In conclusion:

• The Himalayas are colder than Sahara.

• The Sahara is hotter than the Himalayas.
• The wildlife and flora Sahara are as limited as those of the Sahara. Both have climates as
strange and variable as the other place.
• The Sahara is as famous as the Himalayas in the world.
• The Himalayas rivers are less large than those of the Sahara.
• The Sahara is as big as the Himalayas.
• The Sahara is as dangerous and extreme as the Himalayas.
