The SIP shall be anchored on the DepEd Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Strategies in Central,
Regional, Division and School Goals.

School Improvement Plan (SIP) is essential in managing an institution. It serves as a guide for
every school leaders in matters of effective implementation among teachers, pupils and stakeholders
toward a common goal, which is achieving a quality education whereby our learners could compete
globally.
Yes, I do agree that the School Improvement Plan must be based on the DepEd Vision, Mission,
Core Values and strategies so that there will be a unified implementation all over the country.
Respective schools should follow what is being mandated by the Department of Education so that inputs
will be able to gain learning at the same time.
DepEd Vision and Mission aims to produce competent learners by using a variety of strategies,
interventions, to ensure quality results. Having this mission at the heart of the teachers, the front lines
of society, there will be no doubt every learner will be successful individuals in the future. By using
holistic approach in teaching learners will be equipped with competence and skills necessary in facing
realities of life. They will be ready to accept challenges, willing to surmount every problem and
eventually they will overcome every task that come along their way.
Finally, School Improvement Plan focuses on the institution plan wants to maintain and improve.
By having SIP school leaders would have on every access on matters that need more attention in the
priority of the school.
By providing SIP work or task of the administrators will be facilitating in the sense that priority
issues were identified, its root cause, so with the objectives on how the problems should be solved.

9. The challenge in education is not simply to get children in school, but also to improve quality of
schooling & address threats to participation.

The right to avail education, is not of the basic rights among children that parents and the
government should provide for them. Children are considered lucky and fortunate nowadays because of
the Free Education given to us by the government, from the basic education which is the kindergarten to
Grade – 10, the Senior high school has the Voucher Program, and the tertiary are also free of tuition
matriculation, and even authorized miscellaneous fees. How lucky for our learners today, all they have
to do is to study. They even have educational grants like the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES),
scholarship from the local government and many others.
Despite of this opportunity, some children are still not motivated.
10. Perfection IS not the target… “THE TARGET IS CONTINOUS IMPROVEMENT” – USEC Rivera 2016

Aiming for quality education is nearly having a perfect target, putting everything in place
simultaneously at a right time without experiencing difficulty is an idealistic vision. Because in reality, we
really cannot achieve things to be always in older without having problems.
Yes, I agree with USEC Rivera that in running an institution, you should not visualize it in
perfection, rather setting plans should be open for continuous improvement to produce quality results.
Leaders or School Heads should follow the mandate of the Department of Education like the Education
For All (EFA Goals 2015) wherein, every institution must provide an easy access to education for children
regardless of their physical economic and social status. Along with this program or target there are a lot
of assistance given by the government through the DepEd for us to implement and realize the EFA GOAL
“There should be no learner be left behind”. Nevertheless, problems are arising on various factors. Some
parents become too dependent to what the government is giving them, they do not help themselves to
uplift their economic status, they could not take care of their children all the time for the reason that
they tend to indulge with some vices because of the cash assistance given to them by the government
through 4Ps. However, there are parents who make 4Ps assistance as their inspiration to improve their
way of living so it resulted to a good health condition, academically improved performance among
children, and a lot more.
Performance of the learners depend on the kind of environment they are in. So, as leaders we
need to visualize an effective plan where pupils could be greatly benefited.
School heads should have an open mind ready to accept challenges that every target encounters
challenges in order to have a continuous improvement to achieve better results.
