ASSIGNMENT: WHY SHOULD BIBLICAL

STUDENTS STUDY PHILOSOPHY?
Philosophy has a lot of meanings in which all of them make sense and all agree narrowly and quite
literally, the term philosophy means love of wisdom, but in broad sense, philosophy is an activity people
undertake when they seek to understand fundamental truths about themselves the world in which they
live and their relationship to the world and to each other. Philosophy is the acquisition of knowledge
(wisdom), which begins in wonder.

The reason why biblical students should study philosophy is as follows,

Philosophy is a method, which helps us to learn; how to ask and re-ask questions until meaningful
answers begin to appear.

Learn where to go for the most dependable and up-to-date information that might shade light to the
problem on the matter under examination.

Learn how to double-check fact-claims in order to unfold whether they are true or false.

Philosophy is a step up method that embraces wondering about the matter in question, doubting all the
available information and claims about the matter in question, subjecting all the presented information
and claims to a critical investigation and deductive reasoning and the let the rational resultant effect, the
whole truth and wisdom unfold itself.
