THE RE-CLASSIFYING OF OUR ANCESTORS RACE

The Racial Integrity Act of 1924

Walter Ashby Plecker (1861-1947) above was a physician and the first Virginia state registrar of vital statistics,
a position he served in from 1912 to 1946. He was a staunch promoter of eugenics, a discredited movement
aimed at scientifically proving white racial superiority and thereby justifying the marginalizing of non-white
people. Employing Virginia’s Act to Preserve Racial Integrity (1924), Plecker effectively separated Virginia
citizens into two simplified racial categories: “white” and “colored”. The law, which remained in effect until
1967, when it was overturned by the United States Supreme Court in the case of Loving v. Virginia, which
required that a racial description of every person be recorded at birth, while criminalizing marriages between
“whites” and “non-whites”. Plecker’s policies used deceptive scientific evidence to deem “blacks” as lesser
class of human beings, but they also targeted poor whites and anyone he or other eugenicists considered
“feebleminded”. Asserting that Virginia Indians were, in fact, “mixed-blood negroes”, Plecker also pressured
state agencies into reclassifying Indians as “Colored”. The policy’s legacy was effectively to erase “Indian”
as an identity and has made it difficult for Virginia Indians to gain state and federal recognition. Indeed, ALL
States followed such order. From 1924-1967 all Indians birth certificates race states that they are either
“Colored” or “Negro” no matter which states they were born in to this date

The Muskogee Star / Tulsa Star (Newspaper)
The Tulsa Star was the Brain child of Andrew Jackson
Smitherman, a Muskogee man who settled in Tulsa,
Oklahoma a decade before the infamous Tulsa Riots
of 1921. Smitherman got his start at another
Aboriginal newspaper called “The Muskogee
Cimeter” owned by a so-called Black Muskogee
Indian named William Henry Twine (1864-1933)
nicknamed (The Black Tiger).
Twine was a Republican lawyer who knew the
importance of media through his latter profession and
took Smitherman on as his apprentice. Smitherman
deeply fell in love with the process of bringing to
fruition such a coveted newspaper which compelled
him to leave the Cimeter and start his own paper called
the “Muskogee Star” to embellish his roots.
He used his paper to highlight the mistreatment of his
people and would run anti-lynching propaganda
weekly. Where there was wrong, he used his paper as
a tool to right that wrong or at least bring light to
erroneous fallacious behavior. This was not solely
targeted at whites but even Negros who was up to no

The “Tulsa Star” was the heartbeat of the city and its
articles ranged from politics, sports, education, social
events and night life just to name a few. Just looking
at the advertisements will give you a glimpse of the
prosperity that filled the air. Banks, Farms, Grocery &
Meat Markets, Banquet Halls, Beauty & Barber
Parlors, Law Offices, Real Estate Firms, Doctor
Offices & Pharmacies, Cafes, Clothing Department
Stores, Laundry services and many more.
This was not limited to Tulsa, it spread throughout
over 35 all Negro towns in Oklahoma as well as many
other states. Smitherman would continue to push the
envelope when it came to empowerment of our people
via his “Tulsa Star” newspaper up until the infamous
Tulsa Massacre of 1921 where his newspaper presses,
business and personal home was among the targets
destroyed. He was erroneously charged as an inciter of
the riots and to evade the racist authorities of Tulsa.
He snatched up his wife and kids then fled to
Springfield, Massachusetts. Attempts to have him
extradited back to Tulsa was ineffective. In 1925 he
relocated to Buffalo New York and in 1932 he started
a new paper called “The Buffalo Star”. What’s very
odd is that from 1912 to January 1921, “The Tulsa
Star” is archived online at the link below but the issues
precluding the 1921 massacre are not available. The
issues in May 1921 will give us some insight on the
atmosphere prior to the attack, and I reckon someone
doesn’t want us to see them. Smitherman regularly
reported on the many tensions and oppressive
occurrences in Oklahoma and the whole nation at
large. Anyone with a link to issues between March and

US President William Taft (1909-1913)
Former US President and Chief Justice William Taft
(the only one in US history to have occupied both
posts), by all accounts, was a very peculiar and
enigmatic figure. Born in 1857 to a demanding upper-
middle-class family from Ohio, Taft early on in life
was not really considered very bright. However, the
stringent, no excuse, environment created by his task-
master parents propelled him to follow the footsteps of
his father and attend the prestigious well- to-do
institution of Yale University. In fact, several of the
Taft clan including William and his former US
Attorney General father were Yale attendees. Many of
them were tethered to that University’s secret and very
shadowy Skull and Bones Society (aka the
were afforded the opportunity to stroll the marbled
halls of that prestigious academic bastion)
euphemistically described him as a hard worker who

succeeded not by necessarily being the smartest but
due to his tremendous agency and personal integrity
(hmmm excuse the side eye y’all). Family ties and
connections to exclusive elite circles (wink wink)
notwithstanding, Taft was able to navigate his way
from a series of prestigious positions and
appointments until he made it all the way to the White
House as the 27th US president.
You see, President Taft was (Ok I’ll just say it) fat.
Very fat! He tipped the scales at not less than 350
pounds or so while not really being a very tall person.
At that time, Taft was the fattest POTUS ever weighed
and recorded (He still holds this dubious record).
Nicknamed the “Walrus in wingtips”, his weight issue
was so mortifying that those within his administration
became very concerned for his health, personal safety
and public image, especially since he developed a
propensity to forget things and/or blunder his words
constantly (similar to present day Vice President
Biden). Also, to make it worse, on numerous
occasions the massively obese president would fall
asleep in important meetings and start snoring loudly
to the chagrin and embarrassment of his colleagues.
There was even a story of President Taft getting stuck
in a bathtub once because he was too fat to climb out
of it. Just insane things like that would circulate the
press prompting massive intervention by doctors to
save Taft from his life-threatening predicament with
obesity and other disorders.
Medical professionals were indeed successful in
helping save and prolong the then President’s life by
getting him to lose a huge amount of weight but they
couldn’t help him extend his tenure as a bumbling
POTUS. Taft lost his bid for re-election and had to
vanish into obscurity not to resurface into the history
books again until later. Much later.

When Taft did resurface however it was as Chief
Justice to the Federal Supreme Court (appointed in
1921) where he would oversee the 1927 Buck v Bell
case. A case, as previously mentioned in part 1, that
sent shockwaves worldwide and its effects are still
visible to this day. On the faithful day of May 2, 1927,
the doddering Taft as residing Chief Justice oversaw
the Supreme Court decision to uphold the Model
Eugenical Sterilization Law (the Harry Laughlin
creation) earlier passed by the racist Virginia assembly
in 1924.
That Supreme Court decision made it okay for states
to forcefully sterilize anyone deemed a so- called
“imbecile”, “manifestly unfit” or a danger to
themselves and the rest of society. Many states quickly
adopted the measure and used it as a convenient ballast
to sterilize tens of thousands (as much as 60,000 or
more according some estimates) people (especially so-
called negros, coloreds, Indians etc.) for a period that
stretched all the way into the late seventies.
Unlike its counterpart, the Racial Integrity Act, the
Eugenical Sterilization Law has never officially
been overturned. Since the day it was upheld by
Supreme Court Chief Justice Taft, that Law was the
reason countless young girls like Carrie Buck had their
fallopian tubes cut and forcefully removed by
government officials.
Even in the case of Carrie Buck, a “poor white” girl
who was raped by a relative of her adoptive guardians,
the Sterilization Law was still applied by government
officials to forcefully rip out the fallopian tubes of both
her and her sister all because they were deemed ‘feeble
minded’ or ‘imbeciles’.
It indeed was a really dark period in US legislative
history where the greatest fantasies of bigoted ‘master
racist’ Eugenists were given full access by the Federal
judicial machine to act out their wicked and patently
genocidal schemes on vulnerable or practically
defenseless citizens.

This should force many of us today (especially indigenous, copper-colored first Americans) to wonder why a
racist genocidal law that was passed by the Virginia legislature, upheld by the US Supreme Court and adopted
by every other state was not the most important topic in every one of our so-called history classes growing up.
Even the Nazis of Germany knew about that US law and in fact used it as a template to implement their own
version of eugenics on the ‘undesirables’ of their society. In fact at the 1945 Nuremberg Trials held in Germany
after World War 2 a captured Nazi SS officer famously pointed the finger at the sterilization laws passed by
the US government as a defense or excuse for the genocidal acts committed by him and the regime he fought
for which are now widely regarded as crimes against humanity.

It was the first slavery movie our community ever saw

good when it first came on when young Kunta was
training to be a young man at the age of 12 years old
in Africa. All the boys were trained to be men. Their
training instructor (played by Louis Gossip, Jr.)
warned that the young men in training that they should
never go in the woods alone because the “white men”
were there to take them away to another land. Oooh
my goodness, I remember when the training instructor
was giving them instructions and teaching them for
what to look out for. When young Kunta returned
home as a man from his training, his granny wanted to
set the record straight with him about the fact that just
because he is a man, granny is the boss. However,
Kunta had a baby brother and his birthday was coming
up. So, he went to search for a special type of wood in
the woods to make his baby brother a drum for his
birthday. Kunta went in the woods alone and never
returned home as he was kidnapped by white men and
placed in chains. Everyone was so upset and
devastated – we were even crying for Kunta seeing
him in chains and carried off like he was an animal.
RIP “GRANNY”
I remember my mother saying “Mamma, I know we
are Injuns but Grandma Fisher said that we not
supposed to say that because we can get in trouble”.
My granny responded, “Oh hell that was a long time
ago down south” – but yes baby, we “injuns”. “My
grandma and grandpa Fisher and my dad (he was
killed when I was a little girl. He got robbed by a
family member and they killed him). His name was
“George Wright”, he was so handsome. I just
remember my daddy being tall with beautiful curly
hair and a mustache. He picked me up, kissed me, and
I never seen him again. Yeah Grandma and Grandpa
Fisher and all my aunts and uncles left South Carolina
during the great depression. They lost everything and
they were poor and hungry. They all moved to
Connecticut and found life here. They all dead now,
but yeah we all injuns”.

“WHAT OR GRANNY TOLD US”

Growing up, I heard stories about “The Black Wall
Street”. Most, if not all, were told in a warning tone,
“If we build another Black Wall Street, it will be
destroyed!”. After reading the article and researching,
I discovered, even among the lies, destruction and
deaths, the Tulsa residents came back together and
rebuilt their neighborhood and businesses. According
to the article, “By the end of 1921, Greenwood
residents had rebuilt more than 800 structures in the
neighborhood. By June 1922, virtually all of the area
homes had been replaced. And by 1925, the National
Negro Business League was holding its annual
conference in Tulsa, indicating that Black Wall
Street’s stature as an economic force had been
restored.” Tulsa continued to prosper decades after the
bombing, this part of history, I never knew. I also
discovered, there were other American Aboriginal
Indian progressive towns in Oklahoma, in fact, across
America.
The people of Tulsa, Oklahoma, were resilient,
powerful, brilliant, resourceful people. They
continued to thrive beyond all obstacles. They were
successful with sustaining their legacy. The
importance of researching history is inevitable. Only
the truth will connect all of our history’s dots. You
must analyze and investigate the history that you were
taught, including your own.

Inflicted upon us
Throughout the history of the United States there has
been a common trend of violence and immoral deeds.
Violence which has been systematically and socially
normalized in the society of “America”. How has this
come to pass you ask? In this short, the excerpt I aim
to raise the question of how and why violence has
become such a commodity in modern America. This
social analysis of consistent violence will focus on a
massacre which to this day haunts the mid-west city of
Tulsa, Oklahoma. This article will examine the
Greenwood Massacre.
The Greenwood district of Tulsa, Oklahoma, well
known as, “Black Wall Street”, has become more and
more well known in current times. However, it has not
always been a popular topic in Tulsa’s history. To this
day, answers are scarce as to what exactly happened at
the Greenwood district on May 31 and June 1, 1921.
May 31st marks the day of the Greenwood Massacre.
The massacre began over Memorial Day weekend
after 19-year-old Dick Rowland, a black shoe shiner,
was accused of assaulting Sarah Page, a 17-year-old
white elevator operator of the nearby Drexel Building.
Dick Rowland was apprehended. Eventually, a swarm
of angry white residents began to gather where Dick
Rowland was being held. Eventually rumors that Dick
Rowland had been lynched reached the ears of
Greenwood residents. In shock, a number of Residents
made their way to the same area of which Dick
Rowland was being held, which was the same area that
a large number of white residents of Tulsa had
accumulated. In fear for their lives and fear for others,
many of the Greenwood residents arrived armed.

Mucus Management for Today
Mucus forms a protective lining in certain parts of the body, even
when a person is well. Mucus keeps these areas from drying out
and helps to defend against invaders, including viruses and
bacteria.
1. Keeping the air moist. Dry air irritates the nose and throat,
causing more mucus to form as a lubricant. Placing a cool mist
humidifier in the bedroom can promote better sleep, keeping the
nose clear and preventing a sore throat.
2. Drinking plenty of fluids. The body needs to stay hydrated to
keep mucus thin. When a person is sick with a cold, drinking extra
fluids can thin the mucus and help the sinuses to drain. People
with seasonal allergies may also find that staying hydrated helps
to avoid congestion.
3. Applying a warm, wet washcloth to the face. This can be a
soothing remedy for a pounding sinus headache. Inhaling through
a damp cloth is a quick way to return moisture to the nose and
throat. The heat will help to relieve pain and pressure.
4. Keeping the head elevated. When the buildup of mucus is
particularly
bothersome, it may help to sleep propped up on a few pillows or
in a reclining chair.
Lying flat can increase discomfort, because it may feel as though
mucus is collecting at the back of the throat.

5. Not suppressing a cough. It may be tempting to use
suppressants when experiencing a nagging, phlegm-filled cough.
However, coughing is the body’s way of keeping secretions out
of the lungs and throat. Use cough syrups sparingly, if at all.
6. Discreetly getting rid of phlegm. When phlegm rises from the
lungs into the throat, the body is likely trying to remove it.
Spitting it out is healthier than swallowing it.
7. Using a saline nasal spray or rinse. A saline spray or irrigator
can clear out mucus and allergens from the nose and sinuses. Look
for sterile sprays that contain only sodium chloride, and be sure
to use sterile or distilled water when irrigating.
8. Gargling with salt water. This can soothe an irritated throat and
may help to clear away residual mucus. One teaspoon of salt in a
glass of warm water can be gargled several times per day.
9. Using eucalyptus. Eucalyptus products have used to subdue
coughs and reduce mucus for years. They are usually applied
directly to the chest. A few drops of eucalyptus oil can also be
added to a diffuser or a warm bath to help clear the nose.
10.Not smoking and avoiding secondhand smoke. Smoking and
second-hand smoke cause the body to produce more phlegm and
mucus.
11. Minimizing use of decongestants. While they dry secretions
and can alleviate a runny nose, decongestants may make it harder
to get rid of phlegm and mucus.
12. Taking the right medicine. Medications known as
expectorants can help to thin mucus and phlegm, making them
easier to cough or blow out. However, check to make sure that
these medications do not also contain decongestants.

Vegetables/Plants That Grow Well in Shaded Areas:
Many people have space to plant vegetables, herbs and
flowers but it is shaded for most of the day. Well, there are
plants that are shade-loving.
Trees and buildings in and around your yard can make it
difficult to choose a garden location. The shadows cast by
objects change throughout the day and with the season as
the sun shifts. Luckily, there are many edible plants that can
thrive in partial shade, dappled shade, or in as little as 3 -6
hours of sunlight a daylight.
Flowers that do well in the shade include: Oakleaf
Hydrangea, Astilbe, Ferns, Bletilla, Torenia and
Caladium.
Understanding Sun Exposure:
There are three basic sunlight conditions that are used to
describe the amount of sun during the prime-growing
season:
Full Sun: Full sun areas receive direct sunshine for 6 or
more hours per day between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm.
In northern climates where the sun strength is weaker,
plants requiring full sun do better with 8 or more hours per
day.
Partial Shade: Partial shade or partial sun both refer to
areas that obtain 3-6 hours of sun each day. Partial sun areas
receive 3-6 hours of direct sunlight but are shaded the rest
of the day. Partial shaded spaces are moderately shaded
during part of the day or receive filtered or dappled sunlight
all day. Dappled sunlight is where the light is filte red
through the leaves of trees.
Full Shade: Full shade areas receive no direct sun or
reflected light during the day. An area with deep shade is
not a good place for growing vegetables. All plants need
some light to grow.

Embrace Your Unique Microclimate:
A microclimate is the climate of a small area that is
different from the area around it. A partially shaded section
of your yard is different than one that receives full sun all
day long. A shady spot is a microclimate that can be ideal
for growing some vegetables that wither in direct sunlight.
Partially shaded garden areas provide an opportunity to
extend your cool-season crops from spring into early
summer. A little shade in late spring will help prevent your
leafy greens from turning bitter and bolting as the
temperatures rise.
Plant your fall garden under the dappled canopy of trees in
late summer and the plants will be well established when
the leaves fall in autumn. The extra available sunshine and
cooler temperatures will catapult the growth of your autumn
veggies.
30+ Vegetables That Grow in Shade
While the heat loving tomatoes, melons, and peppers prefer
drinking in as much sunshine as they can get, some crops
wither and die in hot, bright sun conditions. There are
plenty of vegetables that grow in shade, dappled sunlight,
or with as little as 3-6 hours of sunlight per day:
Vegetables that fruit from a blossom, such as cucumbers,
tomatoes, peppers, and squash are the least tolerant of
shady areas. Plant these in full sun areas that receive the
most direct sunlight per day.
Root vegetables, such as beets, carrots, and potatoes will
grow in partially shaded areas that have less direct sunlight
but will appreciate at least a half-day of full sun and some
partial shade.
Leafy vegetables, such as chard, spinach and salad greens,
are the most tolerant vegetables that grow in shade. In fact,
keeping these plants shaded as the season heats up will help
them last longer. Plant these crops in areas on that are
moderately shaded during part of the day or receive filtered
or dappled sunlight all day.

SALMON CROQUETTS HOMEMADE BARBEQUE SAUCE

1 can Mackrel with juice 6 cans tomato sauce

1 onion cutup 2 cans tomato paste
1 sleeve of crushed Soda Crakers(white) 1 cup dark brown sugar
3 eggs 2 large onion cut up
2 green bell peppers
Place ingredients in large bowl 1/2 cup Rosemary
1/2 cup Greek Oregano
Mix with hand until well-mixed form a palmful 1/2 cup Thyme
into a ball. 1/2 cup Sweet Basil
1/4 cup Parsley
Place oil in iron skillet filled half way with oil. 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
Medium heat. Until it reaches fish frying 1 Tablespoon Wrights Liquid Smoke
temperature.
Place all ingredients into a blender. Add small
Roll ball of croquette into yellow corn meal. amount of water to start blender. Blend until
Softly flatten by patting with other hand. smooth.

Place into hot oil. Brown each side until crispy. Place sauce in a sauce pan on low heat.

Place onto plate covered with paper towel to Simmer until sauce is thick consistency. For
