In this accident a twenty four years old young man died when a fourteen feet deep trench
he was working in collapsed and he was buried under tons of debris and dirt. Taylor was an
employee working on the construction of a restoration hardware store in Manhattan when he died
while at work.
After the investigations were conducted by OSHA, it was discovered that the project’s
general contractor, Taylor employer, and the subcontractor never provided Taylor with cave-in
protection for the trench that Taylor was working on or even support a the unsupported sidewalk
