China, India population

c.) The population prospects in China indicate that the population will decrease by thirty million

people by the year 2050. More than a third of that population will be aged over 60 years. On the

other hand India’s population is expected to grow by 270 million by 2050, and the working

population is expected to be 800 million by same year.

d) The one child policy in China has already started having negative impacts to the country. The

chart of China’s main working population (25 to 64 years) is at its peak. The pollution of the

young ones has been on the decrease. In short China’s age distribution does not fit a typical

profile.
