MECHANICS AND CRITERIA:

PLANNING/ PREPAREDNESS – 20 %

1. Evidence of performance planning

2. Preparation. Tuning – the instruments and equipment made ready prior to performance; the band start
on time?
3. Appeared ready and prepared to play.
4. ORIGINALITY – 30 %
1. Material. the song sounds uniquely. The song fit the set.
2. Appearance. The band stands out.
3. Improvisation. The band demonstrate any level of original improvisational skill.
4. INTERFACE WITH AUDIENCE – 10 %
1. Physical interaction. The band physically participate with the audience e.g. Eye
contact, head nod, acknowledgement, waving, gesturing, dancing with the audience
or giving hand signals.
2. Confidence. The band is confident in their interaction with the audience.
3. QUALITY OF PERFORMANCE – 20 %
1. Confidence/ Competence.
2. Stage presence.
3. Conformance to contest rules. The band follow the rules stated in the
contest (no profanity!)
4. PRESENTATION – 20 %
1. Attitude. The band’s on-stage attitude appears suitable to the
contest genre.
2. Appearance. The band show personality on stage.
3. Entertainment factor/ Showmanship. The band is able to entertain
the audience.
