Powerpart Extended Life Coolant

There has been a change to the coolant specification for the 2300 series models FGA, FGB, FGD
and the 2800 series models HGA and HGB. It is recommended that on the initial coolant fill or at
the next service interval that the coolant is changed to POWERPART ELC (Extended Life Coolant).

This coolant is pre-mixed and is available in 25 Litre containers part number 21820181.

If there are 2300 or 2800 series Perkins engines known to be in your territory we would
recommend stocking this product. A 2300 or 2800 Series engine will require two 25Ltr
containers to fill the coolant system.

POWERPART ELC can also be used on all other Perkins engines and is highly recommended if
extended coolant life is required.

Note: POWERPART ELC can be used when anticipated ambient temperatures are below 43 °C
(109 °F).

There are many benefits for the new coolant:

POWERPART ELC uses virtually non-depleting corrosion inhibitors for maximum protection for the
six basic metal alloys: aluminum, brass, cast iron, copper, solder and steel.

It has a service life of 3000 service hours or 3 years which ever is sooner.
Pre-mixed to the correct strength for optimum protection.
Provides protection to a freezing point of -37 °C (-34 °F).
Provides additional protection against boiling to 106 °C (223 °F)

Notes:
POWERPART ELC must not be mixed with other products or further diluted.
Before changing to POWERPART ELC it is important that the cooling system is drained and
cleaned. For draining and cleaning the cooling system refer to the relevant User’s Handbook for the
engine.
When ambient temperatures above 43 °C (109 °F) are anticipated, clean soft water with 1% of
POWERPART inhibitor 21825735 may be used instead of POWERPART ELC to ensure maximum
cooling performance from the cooling system.
