ELC
(Extended Life Coolant)
Function of a coolant
Transfers heat from hot engine components to a radiator or heat exchanger to Sediment is aluminium from
radiator and cast iron from engine
keep engine at correct operating temperature
Requirements
⚫ High boiling temperature – ensure coolant stays as a liquid
⚫ Freeze protection – protects engine damage caused by freezing
⚫ Corrosion resistance – protects radiator and engine from rust and corrosion
Blocked passages causing a
of liners, radiator, water pump etc. reduction in the cooling
⚫ Scale and deposit prevention – prevent blockages caused by hard water
scale
⚫ Non foaming – ensures coolant remains liquid
⚫ Minimum sediment – reduce production of sediment
Benefits of ELC
⚫ Protection for all cooling system metals, including aluminium
⚫ Pre-mixed formulation provides high quality make-up water and correct mix

Extended life coolant is a heavy duty ethylene glycol based coolant, pre-charged
with corrosion inhibitors
⚫ A premix of 50 percent ELC and 50 percent totally purified water.
Benefits
⚫ Lowers your downtime and repair costs
⚫ Uses less coolant - ELI lasts three times longer than conventional coolants or SCAs mixed with water
⚫ Reduces maintenance costs due to fewer coolant health checks, fewer inhibitor replacements and reduced number of
drains/flushes
⚫ Superior corrosion protection, protects aluminium, brass, copper, iron, steel, etc from pitting and corrosion
