Function of a coolant

A customer operating machines at a mine in Africa compared components in engines
using Perkins® ELC against those using a mixture of water and supplemental coolant
additives (SCAs)

Extended life coolant is a heavy duty ethylene glycol based coolant, pre-charged
with corrosion inhibitors
⚫ A premix of 50 percent ELC and 50 percent totally purified water.

⚫ Freezing protection to -37oC (with 50 percent mix)

⚫ Boiling protection to 129 oC (with 50 percent mix)

Meets or exceeds the requirements:
