Reasons for joining the election
My name is Chris Wong and I am running to be your President of Student Association . There are several
reasons for me to join the election. One of the reasons is to enrich schoolmates’ life. The tremendous
academic pressure nowadays hinders schoolmates from developing hobbies and interests. Hardly could
they enjoy themselves and live their lives to the fullest. Seeing this tragedy, I strongly desire to make
changes to the current situation by holding different activities to bring joy and happiness. Another reason is
to act as a bridge between the school and the students. Considering everyone sees things from different
perspectives, it is a commonplace to hear conflicts between different stakeholders, of course, including the
school and the students. I want to be the one who breaks the wall between them and establishes a
harmonious learning environment.
Qualities which make you a good president
It is an undeniable fact that every leader possesses certain qualities to help them to stand out from the
crowd. For me, my passion, my leadership skill, and my interpersonal and communication skill give me an
edge in being a good president. Passion is the prerequisite in motivating one to organize great activities and
jump over the hurdles when facing difficulties. Leadership skill is the catalyst in boosting the efficiency
when organizing the activities. Interpersonal and communication skill is the essence in maintaining good
relationship when dealing with conflicting ideas. These qualities make me the most qualified candidate for
the presidency.
Contributions to school
I have put huge effort in making the school better in the past three years . Last year, I was chosen to be an
exchange student to Ho Fung College. It was a golden opportunity to introduce others the spirit of my
school. I could also explore the differences between their school and mine, thus I could suggest room for
improvement when I am back to my school. Moreover, I was a helper on school’s open day. My task was to
introduce parents our schools’ policies. One of the parents even decide to send his children to study at our
school after my comprehensive explanation. It is undoubtedly that I have made significant contributions to
school and I would definitely contribute more as a president of student body.
My election campaign platform
Here follows my plan. To begin with, I would like to organize a day camp which allows schoolmates to step
out of their comfort zone and try to do something that they might have never done before, such as sand
painting, canoeing and diving. Not only can they dabble in different domains and be more familiar with
themselves, but they can also relax and alleviate their pressure. Another plan is a consultation day for
school listening to students’ opinions. With such a platform, schoolmates can really voice their concerns
directly to the school authority. Benign communication could then be established, and misunderstanding
towards each other could be clarified. I hope schoolmates can put your trust in me and vote for me.
