Typical specification
Materials
The roofing / side cladding IBR 686 profile is available in
0,5 mm; 0,58 mm or 0,8 mm with a galvanised finish of Z275 or
with a Globalcoat™ finish to one or two sides. IBR 686 can be
obtained from Global Roofing Solutions (Pty) Ltd.
The roofing / side cladding IBR 890 profile is available in
0,5 mm or 0,58 mm with a galvanised finish of Z275 or with a
Globalcoat™ finish to one or two sides. IBR 890 can be
obtained from Global Roofing Solutions (Pty) Ltd.
The Profile
IBR 686
The profile has five trapezoidal ribs at 171,5 mm centres
giving a nett cover of 686 mm with one stiffener rib in each
pan (optional). The rib height is 37 mm.
IBR 890
The profile has six trapezoidal ribs at 178 mm centres giving a
nett cover of 890 mm with each pan incorporating one
stiffener rib. The rib height is 37 mm.
Assembly
The IBR sheeting must be laid in strict accordance with the
manufacturer’s specification.
Site handling
IBR sheets should be supported clear of the ground and kept
well ventilated under cover until required to be installed.
Cleaning up
The complete roof must be cleaned of all debris before
handing over.
Quality assurance
The manufacturer shall be assessed and certified as
complying with ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System.
Sheet lengths
IBR is available in sheet lengths limited only by transport
restrictions, normal loads are 12,5 m. With special transport
arrangements lengths up to 18,6 m can be delivered.
Flashings
Available in thicknesses of 0,58 mm / 0,8 mm ISQ300 steel, 0,8
mm / 0,9 mm Aluminium and 0,6 mm 55% Aluminium-Zinc
Alloy coated steel. Stainless steel is available on request.
Cranking
IBR 686 can be cranked from a minimum radius fo 406 mm up
to 600 mm.
IBR 890 can be cranked from a minimum radius fo 450 mm up
to 800 mm.
Curving
IBR can be curved to any radius greater than 600 mm for
IBR 686, and 800 mm for IBR 890 subject to transportation
limits.
Roof pitch
IBR may be used at a minimum roof pitch of 5° for sheet
lengths up to 20m. A minimum of 7.5° is required for sheet
lengths greater than 30m. For both conditions an approved
en-lap sealing strip is recommended.

Purlin Support Centres are based on the following design criteria and obtained through testing: Roofs - Ultimate Super-Imposed Distributed
Load of 1,50 kN/m² and Ultimate Uplift Load of 1,60 kN/m². Walls - Ultimate Super-Imposed Distributed Load of 0,75 kN/m².

NOTE: Fasteners must be selected to match the life expectancy of the

roofing material. Fasteners complying with As3566 Class 3 should be used in
conjunction with 55% Aluminium-Zinc Alloy coated steel.

• 0,47 mm and 0,35 mm 55% Aluminium-Zinc Alloy coated steel and pre-painted Globalcoat™ finish for one or two sides.
• 0,7 mm; 0,8 mm and 0,9 mm Aluminium mill finish and pre-painted with Hulett Aluminium’s Colortech™ system.
• Polycarbonate 1,25 mm clear or tinted.
