Civil Engineers are one of those professionals that improve and enhance the

convenience and beauty of our everyday lives. For this role, they need to follow their profession’s
codes of ethics to help them do their job properly. Since civil engineers have a big impact in our
community, they also faced a lot of circumstances inside or outside work that will train and
enhance their critical thinking to manage and overcome an unexpected situation that they were
in.

They have specific principles and obligations that must be followed to govern
their decisions and behavior into the community and their work. Civil Engineers are expected to
prioritize the safety, health, and welfare of the public even themselves. By appreciating others
life not only improve theirs but yours as well. You will feel more fulfilled because you have done
something to make someone else's life better. Also, Civil Engineers must prioritize the needs of
their subordinates, workers, or clients for this will reflect how he or she as a leader manage
people that surround him or her. Not only that, the people around them have a family to feed or
who needs them, so their safety must be a priority also. Civil engineers also must be fair for their
subordinates, laborers, and clients. These things help them to gain trust and faithfulness not
only from their peers and clients but also from their workers. Civil engineers must also perform
only works or sign contracts or projects inside their field because of the fact doing things doesn’t
belong to their fields can be a big problem. So, engineers must be truthful for what they are
doing so no one will be harm for unexpected situations if they happen. Civil engineers must not
do illegal works for money because now a day there are a lot of engineers accept money from
illegal work and it is so alarming. Declining bribes not only preventing yourself from corruption
but also makes you a reliable and trustworthy professional. Civil engineers must conduct
themselves; honorable, responsibility, ethically, and lawfully for it will enhance the honor,
reputation, and usefulness of their profession. Civil Engineers signs project not just to gain
money but to ensure that the clients or employer will be in good hands and will ensure that the
ones who will use the project they were doing will be in safety.

Everything civil engineers will do will reflect good or bad things but with the
knowledge of the code of ethics, things will eventually be in the right place. Civil engineers help
us and change our way of living because of the fact like transportation, communication, energy,
food production, health, and protection from calamities all these things were implemented by
the help of civil engineers. We are experiencing improve and enhance ways of living. The
transportation that helps us transports food and people from one place to another easily.
Communication also improved form letters to mobile devices with just one click and we can
communicate with others. Civil engineer works hard to enhance the shelter that can protect
families from calamities. Also enhancing the food production to supply every one of us foods
even we’re in an overpopulation situation. These things were implemented because of the code
of ethics civil engineers were following. They were doing these things not just for themselves but
for everyone to experience a convenient life to live. So we must be very thankful for every
engineer we encounter for everything we are seeing today was because of them.
