Three years ago, I experienced the most horrible thing

that I have ever had— being trapped in the elevator in

our new house.
That day was a special day because it was my mother’s
birthday. In the afternoon, I went to the bakery to choose
a birthday cake for her. After I bought a cake, I called my
mom and told her that I would go home soon. Hanging
up the phone, I arrived at entrance door to our new
house and then walked in. It is a fourteen- story
building, and we lived on the fourteenth floor.
When the elevator was on the tenth floor, the light of
the elevator was off suddenly, and the surrounding
became completely dark. I was very afraid and didn’t
know what to do because I couldn’t see anything. Just
then, the light was on again, and I thought it was just a
temporary mechanical problem and I didn’t need to
worry too much.
After forty minutes, I heard some voice outside, and it
seemed the voice of my mom. She tried to talk with me
to ease my anxiety.

After experiencing this most horrible thing in my

life, I learned a lot from it.
