Elevator Situation

From 9 years ago, my family and I were going to a new and big house in a new compound
surrounded by lovely neighbors. I was 4 years old and I was so excited and in awestruck because the
place is like nothing that I have seen before and my parents were hiring people to move furniture from
one place to another and to put down some furniture. My parents called a textile worker to get carpets
for the different rooms in the house. When he arrived, my mom opened the door for him and welcomed
but she forgot to close it. My parents were focusing on deciding which carpet they will choose
depending on shape, color and texture.

While they were choosing different carpets for each room, I found the door open, so I went
outside since I was curious and eager to see everything in the building. Right outside the door of my
apartment, I saw a mysterious door with a button beside of it and I decided to press on the button to
see what it would do. The button turned red and I heard a small rumbling sound from the other sound of
the door. Suddenly, the door opened and I went inside. My parents were so focused on the carpets they
didn’t realize I was outside the house. They were still choosing carpets and checking the measurements.

The elevator looked so amazing with the bright lights inside and the door shut all of a sudden. I
was starting to get nervous since I stood there for a long time and the door didn’t open again. I waited a
bit more, and then the panic hit me which led to me crying, shouting my mother’s name and slamming
the door. Even though there is a button in the elevator to open the door, I didn’t realize that and my
parents started to wonder where I was because I was not seen at all. They started to look everywhere
and even called the security to help look for me. My dad decided to look outside from the backdoor to
see if I went outside in the big garden, he kept searching for me all around the garden, but he couldn’t
find me.

My dad decided to look outside from the backdoor to see if I went outside in the big garden, he
kept searching for me all around the garden, but he couldn’t find me. The security guards of the
compound and the neighbors as well came to look for me, but all of them couldn’t find me. One of the
neighbors suggested “Let us call the police to come in case someone kidnapped him.” Another neighbor
responded that they have to wait 48 hours for the police to investigate. My mom focused on a muffled
voice and she recognized my voice and realized it was outside the house.

My mom thought I was upstairs in the building, so she went up but she couldn’t find me. Then
she heard the slams on the elevator and rushed down the stairs to open the elevator. She saw me sitting
down and crying, she cried as well since she finally found me and carried me into the house and I felt
safe and happy that I finally got out of the elevator. In the end, my parents warned me about how
dangerous the elevator is and to never go near it which ended up to me having elevatophobia, even
after 9 years I still have a fear of elevators.
