1. Peace Education and Cultural Changes are the topics in this subject.

Peace
Education is a vital response in light of major social problems that we are
currently facing. Would you consider COVID 19 pandemic merely a product of bio
terrorism that affects world order and peace? How this health crisis would
change the Philippine educational landscape and bring phenomenal cultural
changes to the lives of Filipinos.

Today, the coronavirus hit us by surprise, and consumed us within a months.

Nobody predicted that it would kill so many people, force countries to lockdown, shut
schools and public places and put our life on hold. It hit us and now it’s everywhere. It
made the whole world suffered and this virus was spreading very fast. People are
getting sick and dying. While this virus continually spreading all over the world many
theories and speculation about this virus has come out, many people believe that this
virus is a bioterrorism attack from China to the world, while some believe it was made
by the US government. In my opinion I believe that COVID19 is not considered as a
bioterrorism attack because we all know that there is so many victims in this pandemic
all over the world and I believe that no one will put his country and the world into
danger. Another reason why this is not considered as a bioterrorism is that our world
today is very polluted and its really at risk to the different diseases because of the
human bad activities. But for me this pandemic affects the order and peace of the world.
People are started to follow the orders of their government. Everyone live at peace, free
from violence of their surroundings. Economic activity of the world was stop.

This health crisis change the cultural and educational landscape of every Filipino
people Several interesting instances in the present have taken us back to the basics of
life. The virus has taught us many practical things which we had read in books, etc. It
has made us work together without any differences and for a common cause. As what I
observed in our home and my neighbors and also to the people who posted their daily
lives in social media the daily habits, which were lost long ago in the fast-moving pace
of work-life and in chasing ambitions, are returning. People have started to cook their
own food, clean their house, read their diaries written long ago, share those long-
pending stories with their children, call some of their old friends who are stuck in a other
land, spend quality time with their loved ones, play the guitar which was lying in the
corner for months, and do many more things which are things that has gone a long time
ago. In terms of Educational Landscape it has a huge changes during this time of
pandemic because for the reason that the people ate not able to come outside their
houses. And our government was thinking the best possible way on how they continue
the education of the Filipino children. The role of technology really help us to learn
during this time. No more face to face interaction to prevent spreading the virus. The
public and private school are now implemented the use of technology in delivering the
lesson to the class. Online classes will be using this time. But in the Philippines we
cannot say that this plan will be successful because the problem that we facing today
including the lack of cellphone and internet connection of most of our students.

2. Gender and development shape the lives of all people in the society. Prepare a
comprehensive discussion regarding gender and equality, gender and inequality,
gender and power and gender and education.
Gender is a complex variable that is a part of social, cultural, economic
and political contexts. It is also relevant for the work of civil society
movements. Gender refers to socially constructed differences between men and
women. Being socially constructed, gender differences vary depending on age, marital
status, religion, ethnicity, culture, race, class and so on. Gender is an important
consideration in development. It is a way of looking at how social norms and power
structures impact on the lives and opportunities available to different groups of men and
women. Like for example in the world, more women than men live in poverty. Women
are also less likely than men to receive basic education and to be appointed to a
political position nationally and internationally. Understanding that men and women,
boys and girls experience poverty differently and face different barriers in accessing
services, economic resources and political opportunities helps to target interventions.
And we all know gender have a different perspective and impact in terms of equality,
power, education etc.

Gender and Equality. Equality or non-discrimination is that state where every

individual gets equal opportunities and rights. Every individual of the society yearns for
equal status, opportunity, and rights. However, it is a general observation that there
exists lots of discrimination between humans. Discrimination exists because of cultural
differences, geographical differences, and gender. Inequality based on gender is a
concern that is prevalent in the entire world.  Even in the 21st century, across globe men
and women do not enjoy equal privileges. Gender equality means providing equal
opportunities to both men and women in political, economic, education and health
aspects. A nation can progress and attain higher development growth only when both
men and women are entitled to equal opportunities. Women in the society are often
cornered and are refrained from getting equal rights as men to health, education,
decision-making and economic independence in terms of wages.

Gender inequality refers to unequal treatment or perceptions of individuals

based on their gender. It arises from differences in socially constructed gender roles.
When people do not fit in the set ways and do not conduct themselves within the confines
of the set boundaries, they are stigmatized and face discrimination from their
communities and households. Gender inequality has been a persistent issue over the
years and has also crippled development to a certain extent. Women together with the
feminist activists who have been in the frontline advocating for the rights of the female
gender have made an enormous progress since the early ninety 's. One of the greatest
example of gender inequality was seen in the workplace, Some common inequalities that
take place in the workplace are the gender-based imbalances of individuals in power
and command over the management of the organization. Women are not able to move
up into higher paid positions as quickly as men.

Gender and Power. Gender shapes power, from the ‘private’ relationships
of the household to the highest levels of political decision-making.  Relations
between the sexes are relations of power. Often what being a 'woman' means is
being powerless (silent, obedient, accommodating). In comparison, a 'true man' is
powerful (outspoken, in charge, able to enforce his will), particularly as regards
women. Such gender roles continue to reinforce the disparities of power on which
they are built. For instance, the fact that both men and women feel it is not 'normal'
for women to speak out in public still presents a key barrier to women's access to
decision-making. 'Power equals masculinity' also helps understand why dominant
individuals frequently display gendered superiority. Gender influences institutions
and how they influence the way power is distributed. Historically governed by men,
most political and economic institutions are geared to the (elite) experience of men.
They idealise ‘ masculine 'types of behaviour and rely on men's dominance over
women.

Gender and Education. All over the world, education is not acknowledged
to benefit individuals but as well recognized to promote national development.
Education expands the life choices and opportunities for both men and women. Gender
is a major issue of today’s society; as jobs, schooling, and everyday life have problems with
what gender really means. As feminist approaches have become a major spotlight, one of the
main underlying issues is gender and education. Women bring to the table a different point of
view/style that men do not. The experiences that women have faced throughout history allow for
such a strong, moving narrative in an educational setting. It is important to study and
understand some of the wrongdoings that have been brought upon women. The constant
minimizing of their experience only allows for one lens to be studied, which is the male-
dominated world.

That’s why Gender and development is important that influences some of the
most significant characteristics of an individual’s life the way they socialize with others,
how they choose to express themselves, and their sexual orientation. It is the main basis
that fits individuals into a gendered category that establish stereotyped “gender roles” and
effect their everyday lives.
