1. How do you prepare for an oral report/speech?


 For an oral report/speech first of all you have to prepare yourself. You have to prepare a notes
on which subject you are going to give an oral report/speech. You don't need to use the whole
skills on your presentation let it be simple as you could avoid some mistakes made by you while
your presentation. Make the videos of your presentation by yourself until you get It perfectly.
Rectify your mistakes clear them. And while your presentation if you get scared catch anything
tightly so you will feel little bit better. Let it go fluently. If you make any mistake leave it as it is
and go for other points. Try to express the things with your hands as it increases your self-
confidence. Make some moves so that you could grab their attention. Do not take breaks make
your oral report/speech smooth as it doesn't affect your concentration. This is all you need to
do or consider before you deliver an oral report/speech.

2. Why is it important to use paralinguistic cues (e.g., facial expression, posture, gestures, and
movement) in delivering oral speeches?
 Paralinguistic cues are intentionally used to express real thoughts and emotions alongside the
verbal message. In a sense, paralinguistic cues such as facial expressions, gestures, proximity,
posture and echoing are all part of the way individuals communicate with each other in face-to-
face conversations.
 The use of hand gestures and facial expressions during delivering speech is very important.
The audience are being persuaded through your sincerity. The movement of your hands sends
empathy. But the movement should be minimized, extra unnecessary movement can also be a
destruction. It also helps you to find the right words you want to say and you can easily tell
them that you are sincere to begin with.

3. Why is it important to pay attention to prosodic features (e.g. intonation, tone, rhythm, and pause)
delivering a speech?
 It is important to pay attention to prosodic in delivering speech to avoid communication
barriers. Using intonation, tone, rhythm and pause is very important. Intonation to avoid being
monotonous that could make them sleep. Your tone must be appropriate to the speech you are
about to deliver as well as the rhythm. It is also a way to catch the audience attention.
4. What qualities should a debater have to win in an argument?
 With the use of solid proofs and facts. using paralinguistic cues and prosodic. Composed self
and proper composure as well as your outfit.
