Polycystic ovarien disorder or polycystic ovarien syndrome[pcod\pcos]

It is a medical condition that affects one in ten women, caused by hormone imbalance in which
the amount of estrogen hormone increases in the female body. It refers to a condition when a
woman has a number of small cysts in the ovaries. This condition can trigger diabetes, infertility,
acne and excessive hair growth.
Most PCOD patients are overweight and are advised to exercise regularly, which can further
help to control the symptoms. However, majority of people have a completely normal body type.

Diet changes
Increase protein intake- Have good quality protein in your diet which comes from pulses,
legumes ,tofu ,nuts and consume low amount of diary product.

Increase intake of low glycemic food- Add whole grains, millet[oats,barley,jawar,ragi,makka]


green  and yellow vegetables because it contains low glycemic level it digest slowly which result
your blood sugar level does not increase rapidly.

Include healthy fat- Eat healthy fat because it absorb vitamin A, D,E in your body. Sources of
healthy fat available in coconut oil, flax seed, olive oil, rice bran oil, ghee, walnut, sesame seed
and soaked nut.

We can use spices in making herbal tea. Recipe has been given below…

Recipe-

Take 300 ml of water, add below spices and boil till reduce to one cup. This Tea can be taken in
morning and evening. This tea is not even useful in PCOD but also immunity and metabolism
booster, that helps in reduce weight and gastric problem.

1. Carom seeds (Ajwain) Half Spoon


2. Turmeric in whole form-2pcs
3. Cinnamon (Daal chini)- Half spoon
4. Black pepper (Kaali mirch)- 2 pinch
5. Green Tea- one spoon
6. Fenugreek seeds-Half spoon
7. Coriander seeds (Also helps in Thyroid problem)-Half spoon
8. Apple vinegar or Lemon- 05 ml
9. Honey – 1spoon

Herbs:

Garlic, Ginger, Amla, Karela Juice, Khus-Khus, Chia seeds, Neem Capsules, Triphala, Shatavari

 It’s better to opt for low-fat milk. Ensure that you boil the milk before consuming it. You may
want to add a pinch of ginger or turmeric before boiling it to decrease the Kapha increasing
quality of milk.

 Exercise regularly to get fit.

 Say goodbye to all sorts of junk food.

 Sugar-based products are considered unhealthy, as sugar increases Kapha. You may want to
opt for honey instead, which is believed to reduce Kapha.
 Avoid consuming potatoes or sweet potatoes as they can cause weight gain and affect
blood sugar levels.

 It is recommended that you avoid undertaking any physical or mental work that can cause
undue stress.
