II. Session Outline
Session Title: “Say no to drugs”
Session At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
Objectives: a) define key concepts about gateway drugs;
b) understand that drugs are not good in our health; and
c) practice proper to take care of themselves as they grow and
avoid gateway drugs.
Key Concepts:
● Drugs involves promoting a lifestyle focused on health, well-
being, personal responsibility, and making positive choices that
contribute to a fulfilling and drug-free life.
● The term "gateway drug" refers to substances like alcohol,
tobacco, and marijuana, which some believe can open the door
to experimentation with harder drugs such as cocaine, heroin,
or methamphetamine.
● Encouraging the adoption of healthy lifestyle choices, positive
coping mechanisms, and constructive activities (such as
sports, hobbies, arts, volunteering, and community
involvement) as alternatives to drug use.
● Drug education aims to empower individuals with knowledge,
skills, and support to make healthy and informed choices
regarding drug use, reduce the prevalence of drug-related harm
in communities, and promote overall well-being.

III. Teaching Strategies

● After choosing ask the students “why?” allow the


students to express their thoughts about it.

● The teacher will present a PowerPoint presentation


showing the concept of gateway drugs
C. Valuing 20 mins Activity: Say no to drugs!
Materials: PowerPoint presentation showing the effect of
using drugs.
● Explore different effect of gateway drugs.

● Discuss some tips on how to maintain on how to

avoid gateway drugs.


● Ask this reflective questions: “What do you think is
the reason why other people use gateway drugs?”
Journal Writing 15 mins Activity: #PulotoftheDay
Materials: Journals, writing tools, coloring materials,
cellphones for digital entries, bond paper.
● Explain the task: Creatively express thoughts on
the importance of taking good care of your body
especially the parts wherein staring to grow the
hair.
● Allow time to write, draw, or record thoughts.

● Sharing Option: Offer learners the chance to share


reflections.
● Conclude by emphasizing the critical role of
understanding growth and development and
practicing proper hygiene for positive social
interactions and relationships.
