The best way to find is by looking into the research you are interested in, look who is publishing

those
papers, which professor and approach that particular prof and that university

That too depends on which lab you are in... I would say the least numbers of years in North america
you can do your phd in is 4 years... I plan on doing it in 5

And the cost is around CAD18000 per year

But if you are doing phd there is good chance you will get funding

For how many years is up to your supervisor

yeah you can work while doing your phd... there are good work opportunities... and after phd you'll get
3 years work permit. every graduate in canada gets that

you have to take courses... so depends on which courses you take. Some professors keep
assignments and exams while some others just keep assignments and course project.

That again depends on the university and your professor... you may have to negotiate. if it's less you
may have to work to earn that extra cash

TA may or may not be compulsory... that depends on your prof

All funding usually comes from government usually... unless there are corporate projects

but the government funding is given to the profs... who then give them to the students

there are exceptions of course
