I have chosen the above leaders (e.g. Presidents, Prime Ministers etc.), because in my opinion they constitute
a large role in forming today’s politics and the world in general. As in today’s society ‘everything’ is based on
who has the most power, the above leaders all have earned a respectable aspect in national and
international negotiations. From talking about natural resources, to boosting the economy of their
countries, these leaders are very influential, as a whole.

I would like to especially elaborate on my choice on a few of these leaders, as I want to be clear about my
choices. Firstly, Angela Merkel, who is the chancellor of Germany, has one of the most powerful positions in
the European Union and is the one who is known as the de facto leader of the EU, being the most powerful
woman of the planet. Furthermore, Donald Trump, who is the president of the United States of America, is
the most powerful man in the world and is known for his unique comments on a plethora of topics. Lastly,
Queen Elizabeth II, who is the queen of the United Kingdom, is one of the most influential women in the
world, as well as the longest living monarch of the UK.
Migration

“The agreement on migration is already disintegrating”

The agreement that was voted within the European Union in June 29, 2018, basically put out a plan on how
to handle rescued refugees in the future. What was agreed is that every EU country that rescues migrants
would send them to designated EU ‘control centres’. Italy on the other hand, was skeptical from the
beginning about this concept and as it seems, it was right. The agreement didn’t have much effect on some
parts of the EU and therefore as Italy was one of those countries, it complained about this agreement calling
it “A weak result”.

Immigration
In a camp, on the south-east of Bangladesh, women survive on fishing, as they have nothing else to feed on.
“This is what we need to do”, said a mother staying at this camp. The government doesn’t want to comment
on this topic and refuses to give the people resources.

A lot of movements were initiated around the world to raise awareness, but nothing proved to be working.
Therefore, I want to include this story in my piece. I want to raise awareness and let people understand of
what is truly happening with immigrants around the world.
