Ans – The administration came to a halt when people observed hartals and led demonstrations and sang

Many leaders like JP Narayan, Aruna Asaf Ali, Ram Manhar Lohia and women such as Matangini
Hazra from Bengal, Kanaklata Barua from Assam and Rama Devi fro Orissa took part.
