Drugs are materials meant for use in the analysis, cure, mitigation, therapy, or restriction
of disease. Drugs are taken different forms like solids, semisolids, liquids, suspensions,
emulsions, etc., for systemic or confined healing activity.

Drugs product performance is described as the transfer of the drug substance from the
drug product unless for local drug action or drug penetration into the plasma for systemic
healing activity.

Overton's Rule defines that the easier it is for a chemical to diffuse in a lipid (fat) the
more comfortable and quickly passed into a cell. The Rule was initially described in the
1890s by Ernst Overton of the University of Zurich. He stated that substances that
dissolve in lipids move more readily into a cell than those of dissolve in water. Later he
set forth an equation that concluded how fast that diffusion would occur.
