During orthodontic tooth movement, when the center


of rotation of the tooth is at bracket then type of
tooth movement in such case is considered as torqu
ing. Torquing movement is the labio-lingual or, bucco
palatal/lingual movement of the tooth. In torquing
movement the when the center of rotation is at bracket,
the root of the tooth will either move labially or lin
gually depending upon the manner in which force is
applied.
