Words and Sentences

Identifies identical words presented orally

Identifies number of words in a sentence presented orally
Sabihin kung ilan ang mga salita sa pangungusap na babanggitin ko:
e.g. Ang damit ko ay bago. (5)
Rhymes
Recognizes words that rhyme
Sabihin kung magkatunog ang mga salitang babanggitin ko:
e.g. baso – laso (Yes), mata – buhok (no)
Supplies a word that rhymes with a given words
Magbigay ng salitang kasing-tunog ng salitang babanggitin ko:
Syllables
Counts syllables in words
Ilan ang pantig sa salitang babanggitin ko (you can also show a
picture of the word that you will present – but not the printed word)
e.g. puno (2), kuneho (3)
Blends syllables in words
Anong salita ang mabubuo kapag pinagsama ang pantig na
babanggitin ko:
e.g. la – pis (lapis); sam – pa – lok (sampalok)
Segments syllables in words
Pantigin ang salitang babanggitin/ipapakita (show picture) ko:
e.g. picture of sombrero – sum—bre—ro
student can also clap to the number of syllables, etc.
Phonemes
Identifies the first sound in a word
Ano ang unang tunog na naririnig ninyo sa salitang araw? (/a/), baso
(/b/)
Blends ___ phonemes in words
Ano ang salitang mabubuo natin kapag pinagsama-sama natin ang
tunog na ito? Ex. /s/ /a/ = sa, /a/, /s/, /o/ = aso
(sounds should be presented orally)
