1. How To Play Rock Paper Scissors Evolution

This game is a fantastic group mixer ice breaker activity.

Player must wander around the room and battle each other in Rock, Paper, Scissors.
The winner evolves to the next stage and the loser stays as they are.

The stages are:

1. Fish (make swimming movements)

2. Dinosaur - act like a dinosaur (roar).

3. Chicken - make chicken sounds and flap your wings.

4. Gorilla - act like a monkey.

5. Human - wave and act like a human (say I'm a human).

The first player to win as a human wins the game.

2. How To Play Mix & Mingle

This get to know you game / ice break game is a great way to generate discussion
amongst a big group or to help a small group get to know a bit more about each
other.

Get the group to stand in the middle of a hall area. The leader of the game will stand
at the front of the hall, facing towards the group of people.

The game leader will call out a choice to the group, pointing to opposite sides of the
room for each option. For example, the first choice could be "inside vs outside".
When the game leader says "inside" they would point to the left side of the room,
when they say "outside" they would point to the right side of the room.
Each of the players then run or walk to the side of the room which they prefer. For
example, if I like "outside" more than "inside" then I would go to the right.

It's good to do a whole variety of choices and some will provide laughter and some
might be more serious. I find it helpful to stop (maybe after a more interesting choice)
and get the players to turn to someone next to them and ask them why they chose
what they chose.

3. Name Bingo

Hand these people bingo sheets out to each person and give them a pen, and then
send them off to mingle and find people that fit in the gaps. Each player can only use
another person once on their sheet.

So the game can finish when someone collects a name for the entire grid.

4. How To Play Shoe Talk (maybe)

Often at the start of a youth camp or youth group year there are many people who
don't know each other. Even the leaders often don't know many of kids. What's
needed is a good ice breaker game which doesn't put too much pressure on
everyone.

I played this group game at a camp recently and it was a fantastic icebreaker idea.

1. Split the group into 2 halves.

2. Get each half of the group to line up against opposite sides of the room or hall.

3. Get each person to take of 1 shoe and make a pile of their team's shoes.

4. Get each person from one team to come a select a random shoe from the other
team's pile and then find the person that shoe belongs to.

5. Once they have found their match, have a question ready so each person in the
pair can ask each other a get to know each other a little bit better. Make sure you
don't leave this time too long, but don't make it too short either, give both people a
chance to answer.

6. Get the other team to do the same process with the first team's pile of shoes.

5. Walk*n talk

1. Danes number 1-21

2. Everyone else number 1-24 (3 wont have a partner -> make a group of three)
3. Walk around the gym, talk about the questions on the paper
4. After 5 minutes: danes go to next pair to make new pairs

6. Two Truths And A Tale

How To Play Two Truths And A Tale

For this great get to know you game, each person must make three statements about
themselves, one of which isn't true.

For example: I have two brothers, I was born in Australia, I have a motorcycle.

This works best when you give the group some time to think of their statements, and write them
down if they need.

Once one person makes their statements, the rest of the group must guess, or vote on, which
statement is the tale. You could play as a team, or individually. It could work well to get each
group member to write down their own answers and see who gets the most correct.

7. How To Play Secret Identity

Have everyone secretly write down the name of a person on a small piece of paper
or a "post-it" note. It has to be a person that everyone in the room would know about
- a famous historical figure, an actor or sports celebrity, a politician, etc. Then have
them tape the name on the back of the person on their left.

Everyone goes around and asks people yes or no questions about who is on their
back. They can only ask each person one question. The person who can do it in the
least number of questions wins.

11. What's the weirdest thing you've ever eaten?

12. If you had to describe yourself using three words, it would be...

13. If someone made a movie of your life would it be a drama, a comedy, a

romantic-comedy, action film, or science fiction?
