1)A position statement on the Denton, Texas confederate monument.

2)Texture (visual element) & Balance (principle design)

3)The monument is of a stone sculptured in the shape of Soldier standing with a gun, which is
evident because of the stone columns and writings on the wall and it’s different from the Sun and
the Moon by Elizabeth Murray, as the texture of the art represents wood work guessed from the
lines.
4) The balance of Denton Monument is asymmetrical as the statue placement is at the center and
gun is positioned at a little tilt and both, left side and right side of statue is in asymmetry as left
side is holding a bag and also trouser projection is different whereas the Tabernacle Polyptych
stated in the book is symmetrical artwork but differs in texture as polyptych is made of wood
carving.
This Denton monument is a three-dimensional sculpture, it takes up space. This statue
represents a human being just like us. Time was taken to carve this statue to how it is
now. The picture in the textbook is the cloud gate that takes up space in Chicago, is
very touristy.  The Denton monument is about someone meanwhile the cloud gate is
representing the sky.
