What SELFIE tells about YOU and your EGO?

Christmas is a test of our faith in Jesus. If you have more,

you are happy, you have something to boast about, you
feel good about yourself. Masasabi mong “Merry
Christmas” to me! Merry ang Christmas kapag Malaki ang
natanggap mong bonus, Merry ang Christmas kapag
marami kang natanggap na regalo, Merry Christmas
kapag marami kang pera. Masaya ang Pasko pag
maraming natatanggap.

Pero paano kung wala? Paano kung mawalan pa nga?.

Hindi na Merry Christmas to me.

Our goal in life, the goal of
Christmas, is not to have more. But to be more like
Christ, to treasure our relationship with him more.

In ancient Greek mythology, Narcissus was a man that

was incredibly proud of his own beauty as in GGSS siya
(gandang ganda or gwapung gwapo sa sarili)
Nemesis the god of revenge lured Narcissus to a pool
where he saw his own reflection, he became enthralled at
his own beauty. When he realized that he was looking at
himself and that he could never be in love with what he
saw, he died.
iyong taong GGSS, nagselfie, namatay. ( 😂 😂)

ON SELFIE CAMERA
One thing that I remember clearly is that until (anti)social
networking came about, wala namang camera na ang
lenses ay nakaharap sa kumukuha ng picture. Bakit? Kasi
ang pagkuha ng picture dati was largely for capturing
memories of somewhere, or someone, or some time, or
other people less ang sarili 'self'. It is not to snap a photo
of yourself for the explicit purpose of having your ego
stroked by your fb friends or instagram followers.

ON SELFIE
We're all guilty of taking arbitrary selfies: of our new
hairdo, a stylish manicure, a brand new outfit, isama mo
Minsan may Bible verse pang kasama
pero mukha naman ang binabandera.

Ito iyan, sharing these photos could be a great way to

express how good we feel about ourselves or (let's be
honest) to brag about the unique experiences we've had.
(Yabang)
Well , selfies aren't just about showing others where
you've been or what you've done, selfies are your own
personal "mirror, mirror on the wall" narcissistic ego-
feeding machine.

Selfie oftenly reflects Extreme self-centeredness and a

grandiose view of oneself (gwapung gwapo sa sarili). They
have an excessive need to be admired by others and have
a sense of entitlement. They’re likely to agree with
statements like: “I’m more capable than most people,” and
“I will usually show off if I get the chance. "Kahit ganito
lang ako, masaya ako" equivalent of making false
reflection about the reality. In short, pagkukunwari.

TURNING THE CAMERA ON THE OTHER SIDE

Perhaps try using the camera on the other side of your

phone for a while. Sana may makita pa tayong 'iba' /
'others' huwag lang puro sarili.
Sana pati ugali, karakter at pagkatao pwede ring i-selfie,
MUNDO.

Philippians 2:5
You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus
had.

Para saan yun? Pag naguumapaw na ang self confidence mo.

We need to love ourselves to love others and to see themselves the
way God sees them.

More than feelings or anything. Love is an action word.

Good Samaritan Luke( read)

Sino ang neighbour ko? WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR?

Neighbour…. Route from Jericho to Jerusalem is very dangerous.

Maraming bandits.

Who is your neighbour?

Luke 10:30-37
30
Jesus replied with a story: “A Jewish man was traveling from
Jerusalem down to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They
stripped him of his clothes, beat him up, and left him half dead
beside the road.
31
“By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying
there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him
by. 32 A Temple assistant[b] walked over and looked at him lying
there, but he also passed by on the other side.
33
“Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the
man, he felt compassion for him. 34 Going over to him, the
Samaritan soothed his wounds with olive oil and wine and
bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and
took him to an inn, where he took care of him. 35 The next day he
handed the innkeeper two silver coins,[c] telling him, ‘Take care of
this man. If his bill runs higher than this, I’ll pay you the next time
I’m here.’
36
“Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the
man who was attacked by bandits?” Jesus asked.
37
The man replied, “The one who showed him mercy.”
Then Jesus said, “Yes, now go and do the same.”

Turn Your Camera to…

1. Mga nawalan ninakawan at iniwan.

Nasbukan mo na bang manakwan, ng bf? Ninakawan ng dangal?

Ninakawan ng pagkatao? Iba yung dangal. Yung pre marital sex,
ninanakawan ka ng lalaking yan. Magnanakaw yan, kala mo may
nakukuha ka, pero ikaw ang ninanakawan.

Ninakawan ng future… walang kinabukasan.

Abandoned, iniwan ng asawa iniwan ng magulang.

SInong broken family… iniwan… etc… naging okey na kayo eh nung

nakilala niyo si Lord, kasi may NAG REACH OUT SA INYO. Kaso ang
problema, marami pang katulad mo dati sa labas. Paano sila? That’s
why andito ka, oo nga no maganda pala tingin ni Lord. Then reach them
out.

Work abroad parents mo, na you felt abandoned. May kilala k aba
ganyan? Hindi aksidenteng kilala mo sya. May ability ka to meet the
need of that person.

Who is your neighbour? Who is robbed and abandoned.

2. Stripped down and naked… Ano ibig sabihin nito? Silo yungmga
taong walang wala, sad sad. Kung kumakain ka 2x a day, sila
walang wala.
May kilala kayong ganyan?

Hindi aksidenteng nakilala mo yan, kaya mo siya nakilala because you

have the albility to help them. To give their needs.

Kasi nakakahiyang

maghubad… Noong elem. Huhubuan. Iiyak atalaga, taz kami tawa ng
tawa. Ngayon ko lang narealize, bad pala yun. Si Ryan Mara.

Stripped naked, sila yung mga taong hiyang hiya, kasi may ginawa sila in
the past na mali o kasalanan. Yung family nila nakakahiya… Yung si
amalayer.
nagreach out sa knya. She came to know the Lord, and now she was
changed.

Kung may kilala kang ganoon. Kailangan pa ba silang isadsad sa

kahihiyan. ikaw yung susi, ikaw yung magtatayo sa kanila. Kailangan
nilang Makita sa pamamagitan mo na Makita ang sarili nila the way
God sees them.

3. Who is your neighbour? he who is beaten and wounded. May

umiyak ba kahapon, may naglupasay. Malimutan ang pait.

Physically wounded, he needs physical care. Minsan kailangan mo lang

siya ng band aid. Physically battered. Emtionally beaten up. Yung bug
bog na bugbog. Are you wounded? Heal the wound.

May sugat, physical na sugat, kadiri, lalo na yung may nana. May
langaw pa. Kaya mo bang gamutin?
When the soul is so wounded para siyang sugat na pisikal, may nana,
mabaho, dumudugo. You know a person who is wounded?

Persons who are wounded also wound others. Ang mga may sakit,
magaling din manakit. Hi. Ano namana!! Galit. Maraming hugot. Pag
tinignan mo sila puro sila sugat. Kaya bumabaho, nangangamoy…
sensitive, irritable. Yung laging galit pag pinagsasabihan. Si ariel…

Be sensitive to the needs of others….

Because we received the Love of God, kaya natin dapat iaccomodate

kanya.

The Samaritan saw the need, not the person. I pray that God will give us
eyes that see the need, because we have received love from God.

"Gagamitin ka ng Lord to answer the need of somebody."

LOVE DOES. It is an action word. You have received the love of God.
Let's go out and do the same. Let's go out, find a neighbor and meet
their needs
