CLAUSES:

 Depent clauses.- Es un grupo de palabras que contiene sujeto y verbo que no tiene
sentido completo y pertenece a un contexto mayor.
o E.g.:

 When a cavity gets larger, it is more likely to irritate the pulp.


 Most dental pain occurs due to tooth decay, which usually affects an individual
tooth.
 Patients who experience pain should contact their dentist.

o Marker word (pronombres relativos): Encabeza a la cláusula dependiente.

Nota: También son llamados conjunciones subordinantes (subordinating


conjunctions) o subornidaores (subordinators).

 Indepent clauses.- Es una oración con sujeto verbo y complemento que expresa un
sentido completo.
o E.g.:

 Dental plaque is a sticky and colorless film of bacteria.


 The cat is sleeping.
 I was watching TV
 I studied hard for my test.

o Note:
Subordinator + Indepent clause = Dependent clause
