Title: Development and Validation of Self-Learning Module in Earth Science for Senior High School

Objectives/Statement of the Problem

This study generally aims to develop and validate a Self-Learning Module in Earth Science for the senior
high school students. Specifically, it seeks to answer the following questions: (1) How may the module be
designed and developed?, and (2) How may the developed module be improved by experts in terms of
content, format, presentation and organization, accuracy and up-to-datedness of information?

Brief Description of Methodology and Statistical Design

The current study will employ the Research and Development (R & D) Design which is the process used
in developing and validating educational products (Mayer,2009). In this study, the term “product”
referred to the developed self-learning module in Earth Science. The Research Development Design will
cover the planning, development and the validation phase. After collecting all the necessary data, the
researcher will tabulate the responses of the experts which will be subjected to appropriate statistical
treatment. Lastly, the researcher will weighted mean in interpreting the data of the study.
