POST LAB QUESTIONS:

Q1. Explain how changing the color temperature effect the environment?
Modern day workers spend more time external  in the office, but if they’re not working smarter,
they aren’t doing much for their employers.  This might sound like a simple insight, but
companies that understand what drives productivity get the most out of their talent and, as a
result, produce better products, offer greater service and, ultimately, generate higher revenue.

One of the most striking factors influencing how we work is the color temperature of the light
source we’re exposed to on a regular basis.

“light has an enormous effect on our physical and mental well-being,” said stanley felderman
of felderman keatinge & associates external , a design studio he runs with nancy
keatinge external . The husband-wife duo believes that it’s in our dna to perform better under
specific lighting, and that’s why we react differently depending on our light environment.
Q2. Summarize the lighting design process.

1. identify the requirements

2. determine the method of lighting
3. select the lighting equipment
4. calculate the lighting parameters and adjust the design as required
5. determine the control system
6. choice of luminaire
7. Inspect the installation upon completion

Q3. Explain how illuminance is different from luminance?

Illuminance is measured as the amount of light striking a surface. ... Luminance, is what we

measure off of the surface that has light hitting it. Luminance is the measurement of the product
of the incident light and the surface – anything that is reflected.

Q4. Explain how different factor affect the lux level?

Factors such as rmf and smf are affected by the location of the luminaires – whether an
industrial warehouse or an office, for example. This would in turn affect the lmf in terms of dust-
build up, which has an effect on light levels.
