Virtual is Reality
“This is my favorite part of the week.”
These are the words we recently heard during our weekly
Challenge meeting with students on Zoom. This “new
normal” in the midst of COVID-19 closures and continual
changes has had an effect on each of us. For many college
students, one effect has been isolation. While Zoom calls
and online meetings
do not compare to
having the
opportunity to sit in
the same space with
a friend or to stand
with our brothers
and sisters in Christ
to worship, we can still give thanks for the opportunities
we have because of technology. The past few weeks, we
have been able to interact with students in different
situations: some are in the dorms, or in Greeley with a
couple of roommates, or back at home with their parents.
We’ve been able to gather virtually for our Tuesday night
weekly meeting, Bible studies, and other meetings. We
recently met with the “Core Team,” a group of student
leaders for Challenge. It was encouraging to hear the
ways the Lord has worked through the ministry and in
their lives. Here are some of the things they had to say:

It has been great to be in an environment where people
are constantly talking about the gospel and sharing the
gospel! It encouraged me to go out of my comfort zone
and has really helped me to grow. – Jasmine
A highlight for me was doing surveys for the first time
and reaching out to individuals in that manner. It
stretched me socially. – Aaron
It was cool to see week by week how community groups
took off! – Renee
Challenge has shown me how to be an inviter. Doing
“Gospel appointments” this year has taught me about
intentionality and sharing my faith is more natural now. -

We’re so grateful for what the Lord has done this
year. We are trying something new this summer
called the Global Project 2020 to help students grow
spiritually in the midst of this pandemic. Our desire
is to see students take new steps of faith through
this 2 month virtual training program.
As we wrap up another school year as ministers of
the gospel to college students, we give continual
thanks to God for you! We pray you are well, and may
the Lord continue to show you His faithfulness!
