Daily report on Public Health measures taken for COVID-19

COVID-19 testing is done in 45 Government and 40 Private labs all over Tamil
Nadu. Two private labs (Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research
Institute, Kanchipuram & Laboratory Services, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital,
Sidhapudur, Coimbatore) have been approved for COVID-19 testing today.
56,845 persons have tested positive till date. 8,03,824 samples were tested
negative. Testing of 542 samples are under process.

The general public are advised to adhere to health advisories and

travel advisories issued by the state Government. Public should follow the
cough etiquette by covering the face using handkerchief / towel while
sneezing/ coughing. Do frequent hand washing with soap and water.

died on 18.06.2020 at 12.55 AM due to Multi Organ Failure / COVID-19.

A 78 Years old female from Chennai with Type II DM / HTN / Follicular
Lymphoma on Chemotherapy / Old TB spine admitted on 17.06.2020 at
12.41 AM at private hospital, Chennai with the complaints of fever for 4 days,
died on 18.06.2020 at 11.13 PM due to Cardio Respiratory Arrest / COVID
Pneumonia /MODS.

Diabetes Mellitus and SHTN at private hospital, Chennai, with the
complaints of fever for 1 day, Cough and Breathing Difficulty for 1 week, died
on 19.06.2020 at 07.30 PM due to Respiratory failure / Septic Shock /
Multi Organ Failure.
