Portfolio Artifact Description: Celebrity Gossip Newspaper - Use word processor
to create a 2 column newspaper.
What you learned/overcame: Once I figured out how to make the header go on
only the first page by going to “format>header>different first page” and formatting the
paragraphs in two columns, this project was fairly simple. For the most part it was
just plugging in the stories and images and making it flow like a real newspaper.

Addressed: Standard #6 Creative Communicator- 6a: Students choose the
appropriate platforms and tools for meeting the desired objectives of their creation or
communication.
Application of Skills Learned for the Future: I think this project could be a lot of
fun for students. They would get to creatively create their own short stories and read
the rest of the classes as well. It would teach them how to format paragraphs
differently than they are used to into a word processor to make it look like a
newspaper. A silly idea that students could create newspapers based on could be
their favorite cartoon characters going on vacation somewhere. Another thing this
project could teach students is the power of peer review. It gives them a chance to
work on their own grammar skills and edit their classmates' writing as well.
