NOTICE

All the students of UG and PG programs of SDMCET are informed to note and follow
the procedure of CIE evaluation for theory, lab, seminar and project courses for the
current even semester.

UG Programs:

1. Theory Courses:
a) Conduct of IA II: Four questions will be given for which write the answers. All four
questions are compulsory. Scan the answer sheets and send the scanned copy (soft
copy) to course teacher preferably by e mail or Whatsapp or any other file transfer
mode. The course teacher will evaluate it for 20 marks.
b) Conduct of CTA: Two questions will be given for which write the answers. Scan
the answer sheets and send the scanned copy (soft copy) to course teacher preferably
by e mail or Whatsapp or any other file transfer mode. The course teacher will
evaluate it for 10 marks.
c) IA I for Absentees: The students who could not appear for IA I are given a chance to
write. Four questions are given from the syllabus on which IA I was conducted for
other students. Write answers for four questions. Scan the answer sheets and send the
scanned copy (soft copy) to course teacher preferably by e mail or Whatsapp or any
other file transfer mode. The course teacher will evaluate it for 20 marks.
d) CIE Score: Now the CIE score out of 50 will be IA I score (out of 20) + IA II score
(out of 20) + CTA score (out of 10).

2. Practical Courses: The CIE will be finalized based on the number of experiments
conducted before the lock down period. The criteria for evaluation shall be attendance
and your involvement & performance while conducting experiments.
3. Seminar: The students are given or permitted to select a topic (if not done in the
beginning of the semester). You are required to prepare a write up on the selected
topic in the form of a paper, scan and send the soft copy to the seminar coordinator or
the faculty in charge of seminar who will evaluate and award the marks.
4. Project (Introductory, mini and major): Prepare the project report in consultation
with your guide, based on the work carried out so far and also include the hypothetical
data (if needed) to discuss about the would be results and draw the conclusions which
of course goes with the nature of the project. Further, you are required to submit the
soft copy of the project report through e mail to the respective Guide for award of CIE
marks.
5. Submission of assignment 1 & 2: The hard copy of the assignment 1 & 2 shall be
submitted on the first day of reopening of the college, then only the evaluation of CIE
will be confirmed.

 PG Programs (M.Tech II sem and MBA II & IV sem):

1. Theory Courses:

Conduct of IA I: The question paper pattern shall be the normal pattern prescribed in the
regulation book i.e. you need to answer any three full questions from given 4 questions.
Each question shall carry 10 marks with a maximum of two sub divisions in a question.
The questions are given on the contents covered in the class room teaching before the
start of the lock down period. Write answers for any 3 full questions and send the
scanned copy (soft copy) of the answer sheets to the course teacher preferably by e mail
or Whatsapp or any other file transfer mode. The course teacher will evaluate IA I for 30
marks.

b) Conduct of CTA: Six questions shall be given from Assignment that consist of 30
questions which is already communicated you. Write answers for these 6 questions and
send the scanned copy (soft copy) of the answer sheets to the course teacher preferably by
e mail or Whatsapp or any other file transfer mode. The course teacher will evaluate CTA
for 20 marks.

c) CIE Score: Now the CIE score out of 50 will be IA I score (out of 30) + CTA score
(out of 20).

2. Seminar, Practical and Project courses: The procedure of evaluation is same as that
for UG courses as narrated above.

3. Submission of assignment 1 & 2: The hard copy of the assignment 1 & 2 shall be
submitted on the first day of reopening of the college, then only the evaluation of CIE
will be confirmed.
