The Arguments

SUPER FACADE SCAFFOLDS

We take pride in the details

Scaffolds are subjected to extreme strain every day.

Accordingly, all their parts and connections have been

designed to bear heavy loads.

As innovative product developers, we have proved

over and over again in the last 60 years that it is

possible to create light, filigree structures with

extremely high stability that will meet the most

stringent demands on load capacity.

Thus scaffolding systems with sophisticated logistics as their main attribute have

been produced. Up to 90 %, modern scaffolding work consists of transport and

2 storage. This gives RUX products a decisive edge in terms of cost-efficiency.

Our facade scaffolds are unrivalled, especially thanks to the many product

details that have often been developed to the commercial stage in close

partnership with our customers, and of which we can justly be proud.

Consider our solutions and form your own opinion,

then we will discuss them with you.

The RUX SUPER scaffolding system is available

in two basic widths: S65 with a width of 65 cm,
designed for 2 planks, S100, 100 cm wide, for three
planks.

The gravity locks firmly fastened to the frame to hold

the diagonal braces and guard-rails, and the pins
welded onto the top of the frames to hold the decking
in place ensure fast and safe assembly without shift-
ing or dislocation of individual elements.

The integrated T profile at the bottom of each frame

fits on top of the planks, locking them firmly in place,
thus preventing tripping hazards and the risk of
planks lifting off.

The logical mounting sequence proceeds almost

completely without tools. As soon as the bottom deck
is levelled, the structure mounted on top of it aligns
itself automatically at the correct angles. Clearly
defined connection points force the structure into the
stability that is characteristic of RUX scaffolds.
4

In combination with the light weight of the frames,

this adds up to countless advantages, turning even
the basic version of the RUX-SUPER scaffolding
system into a genuine all-round talent.

COMPLIANCEWITH'ERMAN
AND%UROPEANSTANDARDS

Who has not yet taken part in discussions

about the ideal width for scaffolds? Although
this issue was clearly settled by the intro-
duction of national and European standards
many years ago.

RUX-SUPER 65 and 100 facade scaffolds fully

comply with these standards. Why is this so
vitally important?

Because strict adherence to such standards

means safety and cost-efficiency both for the
people erecting the scaffolds and for those
using them. Safety, because the required
standards are met, and cost-efficiency, because
neither transport nor assembly are hampered
by excessive widths.

What could be better than that!

%ASYASSEMBLYnTHEHUMANFACTOR

To minimise human error potential by simplifying the procedure in an area where

safety is so vitally important was not the only objective in developing the assembly
sequence for the RUX-SUPER scaffolding system.

The focus was – and is – just as much on continuous improvement of our product
design. Elements lighter in weight and easier to handle minimise the physical strain
involved in assembly and transport. This is exactly what we understand by the
“human factor”.

6 !SSEMBLYOFTHE
BOTTOMDECK

The base jacks are

aligned in exactly the
right position and height
with the help of the base
transom and longitudinal
tube.

This one-off horizontal

alignment of the two
axes is already sufficient.
The entire structure will
then automatically align
itself plumb-vertically
following this first basic
levelling.

Next, the vertical frames

are mounted and then
connected by inserting
diagonal braces.

The scaffold is stable as

soon as the planks have
been placed onto the
pins on top of the vertical
frames.
!SSEMBLYOFTHESECONDDECK

Assembly of the second level begins by

mounting an assembly guard rail post in the
ascent bay (not illustrated). Then the vertical
frames are attached to the connecting pieces
of the frames below.

The T profiles at the bottom end of the vertical

frames are used to hold the planks below in
place and secure them against lifting off.

After mounting the back guard-rails, dia- 7

gonals and front guard-rails, the longitudinal
and front toe boards are hooked into place.
Finally, the planks for the third deck are
inserted.

By consistent elimination of
screwed joints between the
basic elements, the assembly
sequence of the RUX-SUPER
scaffolding system not only
meets high safety standards;
the time spent on assembly and
dismantling of the structure has
also been significantly reduced.
&LEXIBLEACCESSORIESnINNOVATIVEPOSSIBILITIES

Standard SUPER scaffolds can be transformed into customised solutions for a great
variety of applications by adding various special parts from a wide range of accessories.

Regardless of whether your customer is a painter, brick-layer or roofer, you can offer
him precisely the scaffold that will facilitate his work and strengthen your position in
the market by using the RUX-SUPER scaffolding system.

RUX product engineers are thoroughly familiar with the issues of safety, handling and
optimised logistics, but the decisive edge which sets us apart as the innovative leader
of the industry can only be achieved with a sharp eye for details and a readiness to
listen to the needs of our customers.

8
The planks, ergonomically
designed and provided with
safety profiles, are not only
extremely light but also
offer optimal protection on
the scaffold thanks to their
steel U profiles running
from cap to cap .

Even if individual ribs –

designed for maximum
safety – should break under
extreme load, breaking of
the entire board is still
unthinkable.

With RUX extension brackets,

you can even indulge in
“thinking outside the box”.

Custom-made design of indi-

vidual components or small
series will turn your scaffolds
into indispensable tools for
highly specialised customers.
These are just a few examples
to demonstrate the versatility of
RUX-SUPER systems. We will be
pleased to show you more solutions
on request.

End guard-rails and guard

rail posts are available in all
standard heights and widths
to ensure adequate safety.

RUX brackets are available to

assist with easy widening of
the scaffold by 0.30 m up to
1.00 m. This makes it possible
to fit scaffolds even to intricate
projections and recesses on
buildings without having to resort
to special structures.

&LEXIBLEMODULARSYSTEM

Scaffolds for all kinds of applications can be assem-

bled with only few components. Thanks to excellent
statical values and an extensive choice of special parts
and accessories, you can forget about time-consuming
screwed structures.

)NGENIOUSASSEMBLYSEQUENCE

All vital joints, including vertical frames, planks,

diagonals and guard-rails, are connected in only a
few, easy steps without using screws or wedges. The
preset scaffolding geometry is the essential factor in
the compulsory assembly sequence with automatic
self-alignment. This means, in the assembly of the
structure only the bottom deck has to be measured
and aligned. Thereafter all elements mounted on top
are automatically forced into plumb-vertical alignment,
thus increasing both speed and safety.
10

/PTIMALWEIGHT

The light weight is a vital attribute of RUX-SUPER

S65/100 facade scaffolds. Its effect is strengthened
by the ideal scaffold widths of 65 and 100 cm respec-
tively. This system offers the best possible ergonomic
properties while also being one of the lightest scaffold-
ing systems on the market.

,OGICALGRIDDIMENSIONS

Material calculations have become child’s play, since

the RUX-SUPER 65/100 modular system is based
on metric dimensions. With only few components,
scaffolds with bay lengths of up to 4 m can be erected
quickly and easily. All bay lengths from 1.00 m up-
wards can be combined with each other. The standard
frame height is 2 m.
$ETAILSINSPIRINGENTHUSIASMSAFEWORKING

5NIQUESAFETYSTANDARDS

Thanks to the unique T profile, trip hazards are a thing of the past.
The T profile secures the decking planks against lift-off. By overlaying
the planks, a smooth surface without dangerous seesaw effects is obtained.
This is the ultimate standard for user safety.

Clever pins

The welded-on pins not only pre-determine the position of planks.

They also prevent the planks from slipping sideways. An important fact
for structural engineers: thanks to their being firmly locked into place,
the planks become statical elements.

%NORMOUSRIGIDITY

The high rigidity of the SUPER 65/100 scaffolding system has reduced
the number of anchoring points required to a minimum. This pays off with
savings of material, transport and labour costs. 11

Innovative leadership of an industry:

this is our commitment!

“We invest in developing new scaffolding elements and optimised

solutions every year. We owe this to our faithful customers”,
says Volker Rux, Managing Director.

This continuous process can only be successful through close

partnership with our customers. Many suggestions from our
customer base have already led to genuine innovative products
produced in important volumes.

There are good reasons for innovation:

in the future as well.
%XTENSIVEOPTIONS

A generous choice of brackets, transoms and acces-

sories ensures optimal adjustment of scaffolds to the
architecture of the buildings. Especially in industrial
scaffolding, where scaffolds for pit frames, conveyor
bridges or pipelines require extreme flexibility, the
system offers a comprehensive range of elements to
increase the productivity of building sites.

Smart small matters

A steel cap set in the profile of timber planks is

a simple means of optimising the overlaying of the
planks. After all, every single tripping hazard is one
too many.

Ideal dimensions

The optimised dimensions of the system ensure further

material savings even where brackets are used. When
using standard RUX brackets, covers for the gaps are
usually not necessary. Gap covers like those shown in
this illustration need only be mounted on gaps with a
width of 8 cm or more.

)NTELLIGENTLOADING

This may puzzle you at first glance, but 90 % of any

scaffolding contractor’s main activity is transporting
materials. Consequently, whoever considers cost-
efficiency in scaffolding must treat logistics as a major
concern.

Optimised product design provides a 30 % increase

in load capacity for the user.

14
One glance at this illustration will show you how an
ordinary truck can be optimally loaded with a modern
RUX-SUPER 65 facade scaffold. Thus many unneces-
sary kilometres between storage facilities and build-
ing sites can be saved. Anyone calculating on cost-
efficiency simply can’t pass up this unique solution
from RUX.
