Make sure that the aircraft weight and CG position are correct, by proceedingas
follows:
. Referto SECTION6 - WEIGHTAND CENTEROF GRAVITY.
. Checkthe fuel and oil weight,the usefulload,etc.
o Computethe total takeoffweightand that which can be predictedfor landing.
r Determineaircraftperformancewith respectto plannedflight conditions.

ENGINEPOWERANDTHERMALCHECK

1 GENERAL

The purposeof the enginepowercheckis to determinethe availablepowermarginand

thermalmarginrelativeto the minimumguaranteed engine.
The periodicityof thistest mustbe in accordance
withapplicableoperational
regulation.
The time intervalbetweentwo checksmust not exceed20 flight hours.
Thosecheckcan be donein threedifferentconfigurations:
On oround:Poweror thermalcheckcan be doneon ground, but the stabilityneeded
is otten ditficultto obtain. This test has to be consideredas indicative. In any case of
doubt,a checkin flighthasto be done.
In cruisefliqhtat MCP:This is the mostusefultest condition. The test can be done
in normaltwinenginecruiseflightat around140Kt.
In TraininoOEI levelflioht:This test is consideredas referencetest becauseit is
donein singleengineconditionand thereforeallowsto use highN1 and TOT. lt is to
be performedto confirma bad or questionableresult obtained in the twin engine
test poweror thermalcheck.
The enginepowerand thermalcheckcan be done:
Automatically by FADECand VEMDby pressingSCROLLon VEMD,or
Manuallyby comparisonwith referencedata, by enteringthe parametersrecorded
on the corresponding
chart.

NOTE
o The resultof the automaticpowercheckis referenced to the 100%of eachengine.
To compareit to manualpowercheck result,it is necessaryto divideit by two.
r For the same reasonin the parametersdisplayedby VEMDafter powercheck, the
torque has to be dividedby two.
