Iridescent Love (6.

4)
-
Six ties cut clean,
Four left at the seams.

I overturned stone after stone

And painted my heart in monotones.
A boar of a boy,
A malice of a man,
An archfiend of an angel.
I find them in you,
And pick at senseless scar tissues.
-

I
Some years ago
In a land far from today,
I threw a stone into a river
And let it fall away.

If you could see me now,

Would you remember who I am?
With my gray, hard,
Gray heart
And those words you never said –

I still remember.

How can I forget

The fine wire that connected us,
That kept us close when we apart,
The bright blaze before the first darkness
I’ll always keep deep in my heart,
The blue, blue haze
As we spent our youth in a daze,
And your sweet, empty
Words
Voice
Music
Laughter
Love –

You must have crossed over by now,

Letting Styx wash away
Everything we once shared,
And I wish I could care.

II
You,
King who sits on a throne of stones,
And fled in a trail of monotones
From us, for us, for you.

The world was grey, a fraying

Seam, beam, dream.
I live in it,
I still do

Without you.
Here, on a sunlit night.
Erred, but it’s alright.
Released from your blue hues,
Every colour seemed new.

I love how the stars sparkle,

Sun shining brighter than ever –

Every moment, ephemeral but glowing;

Relentless warmth that resides in my heart.
Void of your void,
I’ll live on,
Not for you, but me.

Now, my world is full of colours

Only I can see; more that you could ever be.
With gold and pink and crimson dyes,

I,
Battered but bettered,
Will carry on with each new letter,
Bare girl to the eye.
