Telling

XIX. The Sun (Upright)

You take your next shot

As I watch you go
Onwards,

Breaking through the dull, dreary clouds

That will soon dissipate.

Separate;
You were always the one to watch,

Lone sun in a sky of fleeting stars,

You'll be the one to remain.

Of all the things you've been through

and the pain that ensued,

It could only be you

to champion it all

While the rest fall

In a final streak of blue,
Wiping that melancholic tear before fading to darkness.
XVII. The Star (Reversed)

They sleep now,

Restless.

Hearts aching for the gold,

Ghostly glimmers

Send shivers through their beaten bodies,

Charred by trials and tribulations.

It's too late.

They've burnt out.

"Heaven help us now,

For we have fallen

Into the depths

of disgrace and despair,

In a game lost fair

To the ones with greater flair."
XVIII. The Moon (Upright)

I fancy myself the moon.

In the peripherals, always watching,

Living in the sun's shadow ー

This is all I'll ever need.

To catch your brilliance from afar

In a world full of parallels,

Day and night, light and darkness ー

Both can only exist as one or the other.

We fill these roles, our sins in tow,

For all we've sacrificed

In pursuit of more in life.

Make meaning of this now,

As we each sink and drown,

Unable to let go of impossible goals.
