Iriotec® 8208 allows very good contrast and definition
at high marking speed.
Its marking results are inde-
pendent from the polymer.
It will work in PP just as
well as in a TPU or POM.
Its only limited by temperature
(<  280  °C) due to the PE carrier of Iriotec® 8208.

formulation you can
also achieve a dark mark
depending on your laser settings.

from our Iriotec® 8000 Series. This box
includes 9  platelets made of different
thermoplastics showing the advantages
of Merck laser sensitive pigments.
There are three main factors for the
realisation of an optimal laser mar-
king result. It´s the interplay between
the polymer, the suitable laser and
the laser parameters to be used. More

PC is a very transparent polymer which allows dark
marking with low addition rates
of ­laser additives. 0.1% of
Iriotec® 8825 already shows
a contrasting mark with
high definition and high
marking speed.

PP with 0.3% Iriotec® 8825

PP is less sensitive for laser marking than PC, therefore
an addition of 0.3 % Iriotec®
8825 is recommended for
optimum marking results.
PP shows carbonisation as
well as foaming. To avoid
surface roughness, the focus
was put inside the chip. Therfore the marking can
hardly be felt.
