ELECTRONICS I LAB
Clipper and Clamper Circuits

INTRODUCTION
In the third experiment of EE 311 WHich was about full wave diode bridge
rectification. As I learned in the previous lab how diode can be used to convert
AC voltage to DC voltage by half-wave rectifier, in this lab, the conversion is by
a full wave bridge rectifier. The full-wave rectifier converts the whole of the input
waveform to one of constant polarity (positive or negative) at its output. Full-
wave rectification converts both polarities of the input waveform to pulsating.
Four diodes in a bridge configuration and any AC source (including a
transformer).

Part 2: Clipper Circuit :
1. Connect the circuit as shown in the circuit diagram.
2. Put the input signals 20V p-p and 1KH.
3. Put resistor 100KΩ , VB =5 V.
4. Measure the input and output voltage using oscilloscope.
5. Take photo for necessary waveforms on the device.
6. Simulate the same circuit using LTspice program.

Conclusion :
Clippers reduce the amplitude while clampers shift the DC level. Both are
relevant circuits in various high-level applications of electronics as well as
communication. Clippers are used in communication circuits such as
transmitters and receivers. Besides, clippers are also used in wave shaping
circuit to generate rectangular, triangular pulses
