Appendix F: Farm codes

The following lists provide codes for Canadian farms, where migrants go to work. The lists are divided into
two general sections: generic codes and Canadian farms. This list only records farms where migrants
reported to have gone. Thus, only a few provinces appear in this list.

I. Generic

For all geographical variables, there exist a set of commonly used codes:

0000 Concealed code (to protect confidentiality)

7777 Existing location, but outside of established municipio/MSA/city.
8888 Not applicable
9999 Unknown/missing

Note: The Generic place codes are the only geo-codes that are not state-specific.

II. Canada

Provinces are underlined and their identification are in parenthesis. Their census division has their
identification in parenthesis.
