    The beam B4 failed due to flexural cracking and crushing of the concrete on the bottom of the beam. As the load increased, the cracks propagated and widened until the concrete could no longer carry the load and failed. The failure mode of beam B4 was due to excessive flexural stresses that exceeded the capacity of the concrete.
