    The beam B6 failed due to flexural cracking and crushing of the concrete on the bottom of the beam. As the load increased, the cracks propagated and widened until the concrete crushed at the bottom fibers where stresses were highest. The failure mode of beam B6 was due to excessive flexural stresses that exceeded the capacity of the concrete.
