    The author regrets that an error has occurred in the above listed paper. In this article the sentence starting in line 9 of the
    abstract has the incorrect unit (g instead of kg) for the loading rate and should read as follows:
    ‘‘Around 85–90% nitrogen removal was achieved at an ammonium loading rate of 1.2 kg NH+4 -N m 3 d 1.’’
    The author apologizes for the error.
